Starting with a booster battery
Starting with a booster battery can be dangerous if you violate the relevant instructions. Therefore, exactly follow the description of all transactions. If you are not sure that will be able to start the engine with a booster battery, we highly recommend you seek technical assistance from specialists.
ATTENTION To start the engine may only be used 12-volt battery. When you try to start the engine using the power supply voltage of 24 V (for example, 24-volt battery or two series-connected 12-volt batteries) starter motor, ignition system and other electrical devices of the car will break down. |
1. Make sure that the auxiliary battery, which you intend to use, has a rated voltage of 12 V. 2. If the auxiliary battery is installed on another car, the cars do not touch each other. Stop the engine of the car, the battery is to be used as an auxiliary. Turn on both cars all unnecessary electrical consumers.

3. Connect the terminal extension wires strictly in the order that is listed in Figure 1.173. - Attach the terminal extension wire to the positive pole of the discharged battery (1). - Connect the second terminal of this wire to the positive terminal of the auxiliary battery (2). - Attach the terminal of another extension wire to the negative terminal of the booster battery (3). - Connect the second terminal of this wire to open a massive metal fixed part, which is at a distance from the discharged battery (4). This item may be, for example, strut mounting bolt. 4. Start the engine with the auxiliary battery and let it run for a few minutes. Then start the engine of the car with the discharged battery. 5. After a successful engine start Carefully remove terminals of extension cables in the reverse order.
