Emission at sharp closing throttle
This system provides a smooth closing of the throttle when braking the motor, thereby not had time to burn fuel misses the exhaust gases and does not increase pollution. The system consists of a valve and flame arrester installed on the carburetor air damper (on models with a manual transmission) controls the throttle valve. A sign of failure of the pneumatic valve is the immediate closing of the throttle when the accelerator pedal is released suddenly. Disclaimer arrester can manifest itself in the form of reverse emission guttering flame of the mixture and to continue operation of the engine after the ignition is switched off.
Technical condition The flame arrestor

Start up the engine and put his hand on top of a flame arrester (Fig. 8.5). Increase the engine speed to 3000 min-1, then quickly release the throttle. The flame arrestor is working properly, if it is felt by the air flow. Run the engine to idle. Disconnect the air hose from the arrester and close the inlet hose. If the speed of the crankshaft of the engine at idle after disconnecting the air hose will be very different from the speed before disconnecting, then there was a leak - flame arrestor must be replaced. Bellows Sharply pull the throttle lever on the air damper and check the speed of the motorized air damper to its full length. Release the throttle lever and make sure that after contact with the rod of the pneumatic shock absorber lever gently back to the position corresponding to idling. To adjust the air damper, let the engine warm up and leave to idle. Connect the tachometer. Slowly increasing the speed of the crankshaft of the engine, check off whether the pneumatic shock absorber rod from the lever throttle at about 2200 min -1. To adjust, release the lock nut and tighten the pneumatic shock absorber. If, after adjusting the air damper is not working in the established mode, replace it.
Replacing parts The flame arrestor Remove the air supply hose and by pushing the latch, remove from the flame arrestor bracket. Set in a new flame arrestor bracket and connect the air supply hose. Bellows

Loosen the lock nut and remove the air from the shock absorber bracket (Fig. 8.6). Install the new air damper and adjust it as described above.
