Overview

To avoid atmospheric pollution combustion gases and fumes of gas condensate, cars set on different systems reduce emissions.
A combination of various systems is determined by the year of production of the car, the original place of delivery to the consumer and the type of transmission. This guide includes the following main systems installed on vehicles:
- Electronic ignition system;
- Air injection system;
- System depletion fuel mixture when the vehicle is in neutral;
- Emission at sharp closing the throttle;
- Automatic adjustment of the air temperature at the inlet to the carburettor;
- Forced crankcase ventilation system.
This section also describes a system indicating economical driving mode, which is part of the control unit depletion when the vehicle in neutral, although it is not directly related to the system of reducing emissions. For each of the above described systems device Check (provided the possibility of it), the replacement of components (for systems in which it is permissible).
Before you conclude a malfunction of emission control, carefully check the ignition system and power supply. In some cases, accurately ascertain the reasons for poor performance or difficulty starting the engine can only specially trained personnel using special tools and equipment. If inspection and maintenance work becomes difficult or impossible to execute in the local garage, consult your local dealer. However, this does not mean that the system of emission control very difficult to maintain and repair. You can without much difficulty to carry out their own set of checks and using common tools and instruments to perform most of the work on routine maintenance (and possibly perform them completely).

A WARNING
The most common cause of faults systems emission control often lies only in weakening the seal of the vacuum hose or damaged vacuum hoses or electrical connections. Therefore, always first check the hoses and wires.

Key elements of the emission control
Fig. 8.1. Key elements of the emission control: 1 - to the ignition system; 2 - control unit; 3 - flash suppressor; 4 - Switch economizer overrun; 5 - pneumatic shock absorber closing the throttle; 6 - obednitel fuel mixture while driving in neutral; 7 - spool device forced the crankcase ventilation system; 8 - reed valves; 9 - an air jet

Very carefully read the warnings in this section. It should be noted that the circuit in Fig. 8.1 may not all correspond to the system, which is installed on your car, because of the changes introduced by the manufacturer annually.
