Removing and installing engine

Withdrawal
Remove hood.
Remove the battery, support the engine and drain the coolant.

The sequence of removing components and assemblies when removing the engine from the car
Fig. 3.27. The sequence of removing components and assemblies when removing the engine from the car:
1 - wire of the negative battery terminals; 2 - the air filter; 3 - the fuel; 4 - a return gasoline pipe; 5 - the accelerator cable; 6 - a cable of a drive of a speedometer;
7 - the clutch cable; 8 - wire motor connection with "weight"; 9 - a hose of the vacuum brake booster; 10 - Three-way valve for power steering and an arm; 11 - heater hoses; 12 - fan and heat sink; 13 - expansion tank and washer tank; 14 - the generator; 15 - air conditioning compressor; 16 - power-steering pump; 17 - drive shafts; 18 - draft of a gear (manual gearbox); 19 - Extension rods (manual transmission); 20 - flexible joints exhaust system, bolts and nuts; 21 - torsion stop the engine mount; 22 - powerplant assembly

Remove the air filter (Fig. 3.27).
Disconnect the fuel pump feed tube and the fuel outlet.
Disconnect the air and drives the throttle valves.
Disconnect the speedometer cable.
Disconnect the clutch cable (manual transmission) or wire control (automatic transmission).
Disconnect the transmission wire of connection with "weight" of the car.
Disconnect the hose of the vacuum brake booster.
Remove the cap from the vacuum switch and remove the bracket.
Disconnect hoses from a heater.
Remove the cap from the traction relay and a vacuum gauge (if present) and remove them from the firewall.
Disconnect the wiring from the engine.
Disconnect all other electrical connections in the engine compartment.
Disconnect the ignition coil.
Disconnect hoses from the evaporator tank (if any design).
Disconnect the radiator hoses, disconnect the connector from the radiator fan motor.
Remove the radiator.
Remove the expansion tank and washer reservoir.
Remove the bracket from the generator and air conditioning compressor (if fitted design). Allow the compressor to the side, taking care not to damage the hose (under high pressure), and secure it with wire segment.
Lift the front of the car and establish on supports, remove the front wheels and mudguards.
Remove the power steering pump (if present structure), together with the hoses, move aside and secure the pigtail.
Drain the oil from the gearbox.
Disconnect the transverse rod stabilizer front axle and push or pull the drive shafts from the gearbox. To fix the position of the differential gears, drive shafts instead insert the gearbox, special plugs or internal constant velocity joints of the drive shaft.
On models with a manual transmission disconnect from a transmission shift rod and extension cord traction.
Disconnect a reception exhaust pipe from the muffler.
Remove the rubber cap and mudguard, unscrew the bolt and remove the hinge assembly. Remove casings toothed timing belt.
Attach to the engine clamps lift.
Disconnect the motor from the supports of the suspension.
Slowly and carefully lift the engine during lifting assistant should shift the engine forward with studs muffler and pipe away the wiring.
Raising the engine from the engine compartment, lower it to the site suitable for further work. Remove the engine gearbox assembly from the differential. Fix the motor in a vertical position or set on the stand.

Setting
Replace the engine gearbox assembly from the differential.
The front part of the car should be in the raised position to provide access from below during installation.
Hang out the engine just above the engine compartment, slowly and carefully placing it in the desired position.
Further work is performed with two assistants. The first directs the power unit so as not to damage the gearbox brake master cylinder and the engine went to stud the muffler, and the second holds the power unit so as to avoid damage when lowering the power-steering pump.
Further installation is carried out in reverse order of removal.

Branch of transmission from the engine
Automatic transmission
Remove the starter.
Unscrew the hinge bracket shaft. Articulated shaft must be inserted in a transmission, differential otherwise could fall into the gearbox housing.
Uncover the torque converter.
Lock the flywheel with a large screwdriver for ring gear Unscrew the torque converter, turning the crankshaft key for the pulley bolt and summing each bolt in the same place.
Remove the bolts from the gearbox to the engine.
Insert between the motor and clutch housing a large screwdriver, remove the housing, disengaging his screwdriver on the entire length of the joint and remove the gearbox. To maintain the position of the differential, have an assistant hold the drive shaft when removing the transmission from the engine.
Set gearbox to the engine is performed in reverse order of removal.
Manual Transmission
Remove the starter.
Unscrew the hinge bracket shaft.
Remove the clutch cover.
Remove the gearbox from the engine. Ask the assistant to hold the drive shaft. Do not allow the transmission was based on the input shaft, otherwise it could damage.
When installing, first ensure the correct centering of the clutch disc. On the input shaft splines apply grease.
Set the gearbox on the engine, again, ask the assistant to hold the drive shaft. If the input shaft does not enter the splined flange clutch plate, then gently rotate the crankshaft or the gearbox output shaft to align the slots. Before landing a full box is based on its block, the weight of the box is not perceived by the input shaft.
Tighten the transmission to the engine drive shaft and bolts, install the starter.
