Replacement and repair of the main engine components



Cylinder head cover
Withdrawal
Remove the air filter.
Remove the spool and unplug the crankcase ventilation hose.
Loosen the screws and remove the engine cylinder head cover.
If necessary, remove the gasket from the lid knock it easy blows with a soft hammer or a spacer with a tool with a thin blade (putty knife or screwdriver) by inserting it into the corner of the pad.
Clean the cylinder head cover from the remnants of the gasket material on the gasket faces. In no case do not remove their hard scraper or scraper, since aluminum alloy is very soft.
Setting
Replace the new gasket and cover. Screw bolts and tighten them to the specified torque.
Install the air filter elements, and the crankcase ventilation system.

Removing and installing toothed belt camshaft drive
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
The upper housing
Loosen the auxiliary drive belts and remove them.
Remove all available mounting bolts of the camshaft drive belt.
On models equipped with air conditioning, turning the tensioner bolt, push down to lock tensioner pulley belt drive fan, then unclip the tensioner to provide access to the rest of the mounting bolts.

Remove the screws and remove the cover from the engine (Fig. 3.1).
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal. Adjust the belt tension.
The lower case
Remove the upper bolt, which can be accessed from the engine compartment.
Lift the front of the car, set it on a stand, remove the right front wheel and mudguard.
Remove the remaining two screws and remove the cover from the engine.
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal.

Removal, installation and adjustment of the tension of the toothed belt camshaft drive
Withdrawal
Remove casings toothed belt camshaft drive.

When installing the piston of the first cylinder in the TDC should be combined mark (a) on the crankshaft pulley and the front cover, as well as the label "A" on the camshaft pulley labeled (b) in the back casing of a gear belt

Remove the spark plugs and key cranked shaft of the head pulley bolt to align the label on a pulley labeled "TDC" (0 ?�) on the scale pointer and the mark "A" (for engine 2.0 liters) on the camshaft pulley with the mark on a back casing (Fig. 3.2). The engine of 1.6 liters with a label on the housing combined mark "B" on a pulley.
Remove the bolt and the pulley drive belt the crankshaft pulley with toothed belt. Due to lack of space it is difficult to remove the pulley from the vehicle, but to do the procedure in question is optional. It is only necessary to remove a pulley belt drive pulley of a gear belt.

A WARNING
If the belt is to be used in the future, before loosening the belt tension arrow mark direction of rotation.

Remove the locking bolt belt tensioner.
Remove belt from pulleys.
Inspect the belt. Replace it with a new if at least one of the following damage: tears, delamination, deterioration, cracks, hardening, inflections, traces of oil or other liquids. The belt should be replaced as in the development of the resource, the instruction set.
Setting
Make alignment marks on the crankshaft pulley and the camshafts (see. Fig. 3.2).

Before installing the toothed belt as much as possible stretch the spring in the direction of the arrow, and then, without putting a lot of effort, tighten the locking bolt

Hook of the tensioner spring and move the tensioner, putting maximum effort. Tighten tensioner bolt, fixing him in the position shown in Fig. 3.3.

Put the belt on the drive and driven pulleys on the side opposite the water pump and tensioner, as this provides the required belt tension (Fig. 3.4). If you install the old belt, make sure that the direction of the applied pre-arrow coincides with the direction of rotation of the belt.
Tension adjustment
Loosen the lock bolt tensioner, wherein the force on the belt is passed only by the spring.

Rotate the crankshaft through two revolutions in a clockwise direction (in this case on both sides of the belt equal force applied), then tighten the locking screw (Fig. 3.5).
Check the alignment marks toothed belt pulleys.
Check belt tension by pressing the middle between the drive and driven pulleys on the outside. Measure sag, and compare it with that given in the technical data.
If the tension does not correspond to this value, repeat the operation on its tension.
Install belt cover, the crankshaft pulley and the spark plugs.

Driven by toothed belt drive pulley
Withdrawal
Remove casings of the timing belt.
Remove the timing belt.
Lock the driven pulley from turning by screwing for this long bolt with the mandrel into the opening for one of the rear cover bolts. Remove the pulley bolt and washer and pulley.
Setting
Install the pulley on the camshaft and align the marks on the pulley and the cover. Attaching a pulley to the shaft is carried by the pin, is pressed into the front part of the camshaft, which must enter into a corresponding hole in the pulley.
Fixing the pulley from turning, tighten the bolt with a washer. Tighten the bolt torque.
Install toothed belt cover and other parts removed.,

Crankshaft Pulley
Withdrawal
Lift the front of the car and establish on supports.
Remove the front right wheel and the mudguard.
Loosen the belt tension and remove it from pulleys.
Unscrew the drive belt pulley.
In the process window in the clutch housing enter a large screwdriver and insert it between the teeth of the flywheel, thus having stopped the crankshaft from turning.
Ask the assistant to hold the screwdriver, unscrew the bolt crankshaft pulley, remove the bolt and washer.
Remove pulley.
Setting
Install the pulley and bolts, tighten the bolts of the hand of the drive pulley.
Fixing the crankshaft from turning, tighten the bolts to a torque of the drive belt pulley.
Put on and pull the accessory drive belt.
Install the mudguard, the wheel and lower the car.

The drive pulley of a gear belt drive
Withdrawal
Remove the timing belt.
In the process window in the clutch housing enter a large screwdriver and insert it between the teeth of the flywheel, thus having stopped the crankshaft from turning. Ask the assistant to hold the screwdriver, unscrew the bolt drive pulley crankshaft pulley and remove the washer.
Remove toothed belt pulley with the crankshaft. If planting Woodruff pulley loosened, remove the key.
Setting
Install the key (if was filmed).
Lightly grease the key and the end of the crankshaft. Install the crankshaft pulley of a gear belt and tighten by hand pulley bolt. Fixing the crankshaft from turning, tighten the pulley bolt torque.
Put the timing belt and adjust its tension.

Replacing the oil seal of the oil pump
Withdrawal
Remove the cover toothed belt camshaft drive and toothed belt.
Remove the pulley belts and pulleys Timing belt from the crankshaft.
Insert a screwdriver under the gland, remove it from the slot in the front cover.
Setting
Grease a working edge of an epiploon with engine oil and install the oil seal sealing lip inside.
Using a special tubular mandrel and a hammer uniform light blows install the oil seal into the socket.
Replace the pulley gear belt and pulley belts crankshaft.
Install toothed belt camshaft drive and belt guard.

Camshaft
Withdrawal
Remove the front cover of the toothed belt camshaft drive, toothed belt and the driven pulley.

Remove the cylinder head cover (Fig. 3.6).
Remove the air supply pipe.
Remove the ignition distributor and the back cover.
Unscrew the front cover, gently separate it from the motor and remove.
Remove the shaft assembly with a yoke.
Remove the fuel pump and remove the camshaft from the cylinder head.
Setting

Grease necks of a camshaft and install the shaft so that the dowel pin is at the top of the pulley (Fig. 3.7).
Install the shaft assembly with a yoke.
Install the front cover, and the gasket replace the new one.
Install toothed belt pulley, making alignment marks on the front cover and on the pulley.
Replace the back cover (replace with a new gasket) and the ignition distributor.
Install the fuel pump, air supply tube, a cover of a camshaft, timing belt and a casing of a gear belt.
If you install a new camshaft, you must perform operations on the run-in to the instructions of the manufacturer of the engine break-in.

Back cover
Withdrawal
Remove the ignition distributor.
Drain coolant and remove thermostat.
To collect the oil from the housing cover underneath it paper or rags.
Remove the bolts and nuts of the lid.
Carefully separate the cover from the engine, using a screwdriver wrapped in cloth.
Setting
Thoroughly clean the gasket surface of the cover and the cylinder head from sealing residues.
Apply a new gasket sealant and install it on the body.
Install the housing on the cylinder head, screw bolts and nuts and tighten them to the specified torque.
Set the thermostat and pour the liquid in the cooling system.
Establish the ignition distributor.

The mechanism of the valve
Withdrawal
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Remove the cylinder head cover.

Loosen the bolts of the shaft with a yoke valve in the sequence shown in Fig. 3.8. Bolts loosen gradually turning a small angle.
After loosening the bolts loosen and put them in a box with numbered cells to then install each bolt into place.
Remove the cover of the camshaft assembly with shafts and valve rockers.
If you need to disassemble the shaft yokes, mark items so that then install them in the same position. Rocker arms and rocker arm shafts not interchangeable.
Setting
Thoroughly clean the gasket sealant residues from the surface of the cover of a camshaft and the cylinder head.
If carried out dismantling the mechanism before installing abundantly lubricate the shaft assembly with the cover and rocker arms with clean engine oil.

Put on the gasket surface of the cover of a camshaft and the cylinder head of the sealant layer, as shown in Fig. 3.9.
Install the valve mechanism, tighten by hand bolts, setting each bolt into place.

Tighten bolts to torque in the sequence shown in Fig. 3.10. Tighten bolts gradually spend.
Check the clearance between valves and rocker arms, if necessary, adjust them.
Install the cylinder head cover and connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.

Replacement of a forward epiploon of a camshaft
Remove toothed timing belt.
Remove a pulley of a gear belt from a camshaft.
Use a screwdriver to remove the oil seal, taking care not to damage the oil seal lip.
Grease working edges of a new oil seal with a thin layer of engine oil.
Insert the seal into the seat so that the jaws were sent into the gland. With the help of the plug press in the oil seal evenly around the circumference.

Valves, springs and valve stem seals
Withdrawal
Remove the valve mechanism.
Remove the cylinder head.

The special adaptation compress the valve spring and remove crackers (Fig. 3.11). Remove the screw device, remove the spring plate and spring. Pliers, remove the valve stem seal.
Remove the valve, put it together with the breadcrumbs in a separate cell of the box with an individual number, then set it to its original location.
Setting
Place the new valve stem seal on the guide sleeve and light hammer blows on the mandrel cap to press them is fully seated on the plug.
Lubricate the valve stem of the first fresh engine oil and insert it in the sleeve in which the valve has been installed.
Install the springs and plates and squeezing the spring, set the crackers.
Repeat the same procedure for the other valves.
Install the cylinder head and the valve operating mechanism.

Intake manifold
Withdrawal
Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and remove the air filter.
Drain the coolant.
Remove the air filter.
Disconnect draft the choke, throttle (if available), disconnect and take aside the control cable and vacuum hose.
Disconnect the heater hose on the bulkhead, and a vacuum hose from the housing of the vacuum brake booster.
Disconnect the fuel line and close the flap.
Disconnect the hose from the tank to the activated carbon (absorber) from the carburetor and hose purging of the tank (if included).
Disconnect the four connectors from the carburetor and the tank (if included).
Put a mark on the rest of the hoses and connectors that can interfere with the removal of the collector, wrapping them with tape with numbers pasted on sheets, and remove them.
Remove the bolts and nuts and remove the intake manifold collector with the cylinder head.
Remove the gasket.
Setting
Clean the gasket plane of the manifold and the cylinder head gasket material from residues and foreign contamination, trying not to damage the surface of these fragile parts of an aluminum alloy.
Install a new gasket, put the collector on the studs and screw the nuts and bolts. Tighten the nuts and bolts to torque. First tighten nuts and bolts in the central part, and then crosswise, moving to the periphery.
Install the parts that were removed for access to the connection.

An exhaust manifold
Withdrawal
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Remove the connection pipes of the air supply.
Remove the connection to the air supply pipe, unscrew the locking bolt and the oxygen concentration sensor (if present) and remove the heat shield.
On threaded mounting studs of the catalytic converter (or a reception exhaust pipe) to the cylinder head drip liquid attenuating compounds, and wait for 10 minutes to impregnate the thread.
