Check axial play of the ball joint

Verification is carried out ball bearings, as shown in Fig. 218 and 219. It must be borne in mind that checking should apply some effort to get an objective result. It is also important that the car is securely attached to the lift or supports, you must exclude the possibility of the fall of the car during the scan.
In Fig. 218 is a check ball joint axial play. It should take on the knuckle and the strong move up and down to shake it. This should not be felt a strong backlash.

In Fig. 219 shows a check radial play ball joint. For this to take up the wheel, as shown, and power to shake it from side to side. It also should not be a significant backlash.
Before replacing the ball joint, make sure you are not the result of unsatisfactory results of inspections wear upper strut and wheel bearing wear.
