Replacing the rear parking brake cable



Before carrying out the operations necessary to raise the rear of the vehicle. Work on replacing the cables on both sides are conducted the same way. Replace the rear cables must be performed in the following order:
- The back of the car to install the supports;
- Unscrew the wheel with the right hand;
- Loosen the equalizer as described above, removing the tension of the cables;
- Remove the tip replaced with a cable equalizer;
- Pull the cable out of fasteners;
- Remove the rear brake disc and disconnect the cable from the actuator arm pads;
- The replacement of the cable is recommended to check the status pad handbrake. If the pads are serviceable, apply grease to the desired point of the mechanism.
The installation should be carried out in reverse order. After installation, adjust the cable. Also, check the parking brake adjustment pad and if necessary to adjust again. If the pads are replaced, they must be earned extra before use. At a speed of about 80 km / h to raise the parking brake lever on one tooth, but not longer than 10 seconds. Then again, lower the lever. After stopping the car 2-3 times to check the parking brake and wheel free lift after lowering the lever.
