Suspension and steering

general information

The car body is mounted on a curved ladder frame structure with high rigidity to torsion.

Suspension of continuous organized by the front and rear axle with trailing arms, diagonal rods and stabilizer bar on the front axle - see details. Sections front suspension and rear suspension.

When the repair or maintenance of the suspension components and steering are often problems with loosening "become attached" bolts and nuts. Located beneath the car pumping elements are constantly exposed to external influences and there is nothing surprising in the fact that over time they begin to corrode and partially destroyed. The use of brute force when releasing such "become attached" fixture is associated with risk of damaging it. To get started, moisten the element is not amenable to loosen a bit special penetrating fluid (such as WD40), allowing the latter properly to impregnate layers of rust. A wire brush to remove the external fat from the available plots threaded surfaces. Sometimes a sharp blow with a hammer on the nut through a drift helps break rust, filling the gaps between the turns of the screw joint, - try not to damage the thread as a result of coming off knockout. Use at loosening "become attached" fixture long knob allows you to significantly increase the applied torque, but it should be remembered that the use of extension cords with the drive ratchet type is associated with the risk of failure of the return mechanism, not to mention the possibility of injury.

Damaged during the release fasteners must be replaced without fail.

Since most of the described procedures in this chapter carried out on the vehicle raised off the ground, you need to take care in advance about the options secure the vehicle in a raised position, - prepare a strong backup. To use the car jacking Transmission Jack type - remember that belongs to the standard equipment on-board the jack is only intended for temporary jacking the car when replacing a failed wheel. The hydraulic jack can also be used for posting some of the suspension components in the performance of a particular procedure.

Do not, under any circumstances, perform any work under the vehicle, held in the raised position by means of a jack (s)!
