Adjusting headlights

Put the vehicle in running order on a flat horizontal surface. Check and top up the tire pressure.

The screen to adjust the headlights
Fig. 8.12. The screen to adjust the headlights

Put the car in front of a special screen (Fig. 8.12) so that its axis of symmetry coincides with the plane of OOA. The accuracy depends on the correct installation of car headlight adjustment.
On the screen marked the two vertical lines VV, located on the GS line at a distance equal to half the distance between the axes of the headlights.
The horizontal line RR held at a height equal to the distance H - height of centers of the headlamps. Below the line RR to the value of K at the left side of the line RR applied horizontal line passing the right of the line V - V in oblique line, the angle of inclination of 15 ?. Thus formed the broken line C - C. The value of K is equal to the horizontal displacement of the regulatory cut-off line for passing beam. When checking and adjusting the intensity lights another close one opaque flap. Adjustment is made by combining cut-off beam with the corresponding broken line C - C
