The mechanism of belt drive camshaft

The tension of the timing belt on engines and ABD ABU carried out by changing the position of the water pump. On all other versions of engines used roller-tensioner. To verify this, you must install the first cylinder at TDC, remove the timing belt cover and loosening the belt tension, loosen the lock nut. After removing the roller-tensioner with pin, it should be checked for tight or too free-wheeling (signs of serious wear and tear, saying that the tensioner is faulty).
The engine AEA tensioner is tested as follows: Tap your finger on the toothed belt between the crankshaft and the camshaft; at this time sliding pointer protruding from the roller for tensioning mechanism should be removed from the recess in the base plate of the mechanism, and after the strap is released, - moving back. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
