Removal and installation of the main brake cylinder

Securing the main brake cylinder
Fig. 8.25. Securing the main brake cylinder 1 - the vacuum amplifier; 2 - O-ring; 3 - the master cylinder; 4 - a tank of the main brake cylinder; 5 - nipple; 6 - Cover sensor with an insufficient level of brake fluid; 7 - a sealing ring; 8 - thermofilter casing; 9 - Seal for connecting a vacuum hose; 10 - nut 20 Nm

The main brake cylinder located in the engine compartment of the motor and attached nuts 10 (Fig. 8.25) to the vacuum amplifier 1.
Remove the master cylinder using the following procedure:
- Before starting work, click 5-6 times on the brake pedal with the engine off, to create a vacuum and atmospheric chambers of the vacuum amplifier the identical pressure close to atmospheric (remove the vacuum discharge);
- Remove the "-" terminal of the battery;
- Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum amplifier 1;
- Remove the cover 6 of the master cylinder and fluid reservoir using a siphon-pear pump out the brake fluid reservoir;

A WARNING
Do not pump the brake fluid through the hose mouth - brake fluid is poisonous.

- Disconnect the wires from the terminals to the sensor Emergency brake fluid level;
- If necessary, remove the brake master cylinder reservoir, shaking it back and forth. Be careful - the residual brake fluid could leak out;
- Clean the area around the brake pipe fittings master cylinder and put a rag around the unions to absorb the liquid poured out;
- Label the tubes, unscrew the union nuts and remove the pipes from the master cylinder and gently bend them aside;
- Plug the hole, or close the tape tubes and master cylinder, to minimize the loss of brake fluid and prevent the ingress of dirt into the system;
- Unscrew the two nuts 10 fastening the master cylinder to the vacuum amplifier, remove the washer and remove the cylinder of the engine compartment;
- Remove the O-ring 2 on the rear side of the main cylinder and dispose of it as waste.
Install the brake master cylinder spend in reverse order, with the following:

NOTE
Repair of the main brake cylinder is not provided and, if necessary, it must be replaced with a new assembly.

- The only elements of the master cylinder to be replaced, are the connecting sleeve 5 (see. Fig. 8.25) in case of detection of traces of leak of a liquid and a sealing ring 2 between the master cylinder and vacuum booster.
- Install new O-ring into the groove 2 on the body of the master cylinder;
- Set the brake master cylinder on the vacuum amplifier studs, tracked, so that the pushrod goes into the master cylinder into the hole without moving the center;
- 10 nuts securing the master cylinder to the vacuum amplifier 1 tighten the moment 20 Nm;
- Lubricate the brake fluid connecting sleeve 4 and push them into the tank;
- Wipe clean the brake pipe fittings at each side, of the holes of the master cylinder and tighten the coupling nut;
- Replace if necessary nipple 5 as follows:
- Open the lid of the tank and using a siphon-pear pump out the liquid from it;
- Using a screwdriver shake left and right tank and carefully remove it;
- Remove the nipple;
- New grease nipple with brake fluid and insert them into the master cylinder;
- Carefully install the tank.
- After the installation of the main brake cylinder to restore the level of liquid in a tank and pump over hydraulic drive system.
