- After replacing the brake calliper disc mechanism;
- After replacing the brake pads or discs;
- With a large parking during lever stroke.
In cars with rear drum brakes parking brake is adjusted in the area of the parking brake lever mounting inside the car. Access to open the brake cable from the parking brake lever bracket.
In cars with rear disc brakes parking brake is adjusted in the area of the brake cylinder.

A WARNING
Cable drive and all moving parts of the parking braking system must be easy to move, while the rear brakes adjusted operating systems.

Adjusting the parking brake with the rear drum brakes
Adjusting the parking brake with the rear drum brakes performed as follows:
- Several times with force press the brake pedal to set the correct gaps between the pads and the drum or disc;
- Release the brake pedal several times, and tighten and release the parking brake,
- Lower the parking brake lever to the lowest position;
- Remove the rear section of the center console to gain access to the parking brake lever;
- To establish an emphasis under forward wheels, then lift jack rear of the car and establish it on support;

NOTE
On some models, the vehicle access to the parking brake adjusting nut can be obtained by removing the ashtray in the rear center console.

- Tighten the parking brake lever on the fourth tooth of the latch lock, release the lock nut and tighten the adjusting nuts at the same angle as long as both rear wheels are turned more difficult;
- Release the parking brake lever and check whether both wheels rotate freely;
- Check the adjustment. To do this, apply the parking brake and count the clicks of a ratchet, and then, if necessary, repeat the adjustment;
- After the adjustment, tighten the locknut while holding the adjusting nuts;
- Depending on the design set section (or ashtray) center console.

Adjusting the parking brake with rear disc brakes
Adjusting the parking brake with rear disc brakes performed as follows:
- Several times with force press the brake pedal to set the correct clearance between the pads and drums or discs, release the brake pedal several times, and tighten and release the parking brake, and then lower the parking brake lever to the lowest position;
- Remove the rear section of the center console to gain access to the parking brake lever;
- To establish an emphasis under forward wheels, then lift jack rear of the car and establish it on support;
- Loosen the lock nut and the parking brake adjusting nuts by turning them into the same angle as long as the parking brake levers back support not depart back to the stop;
- Using a marker to draw against each other two small features. One lever on the parking brake, and the other - on the rear brake caliper;

Clearance (marked by the arrow) between the lever and handbrake emphasis should be not more than 1.5 mm
Fig. 8.1. Clearance (marked by the arrow) between the lever and handbrake emphasis should be not more than 1.5 mm

- Slowly tightening both adjusting nuts parking brake, follow the parking brake levers that need a little away from the stops. When the distance between the marks is approximately 1.0 mm (Fig. 8.1) on the right and left brakes, make sure that both wheels turn freely, and then check the adjustment several times tightening the parking brake fully and count the number of clicks of a ratchet;
- Set the parking brake lever to the highest position and then lower it. Check that the wheels turn freely. Brake pads should not rub against the brake discs. If need be, adjust again;
- After the adjustment, tighten the locknut while holding the adjusting nuts;
- Depending on the design set section (or ashtray) center console.
