Removal is as follows:
- Carry out the necessary preparatory steps: Place the vehicle in a suitable place for the repair; Remove hood (see. chapter on the body of the car); remove the battery from the vehicle electrical system. If your car is equipped with radio with security code before disconnecting the battery, make sure you have a copy of the code;
- Drain the engine oil, the liquid cooling system (as described in the manual), remove the accessory drive belt; set the first cylinder at TDC (see above).
- Release the clamps and disconnect the radiator hoses from the cylinder head, body pump / thermostat (depending on the design), the coolant hoses from the expansion tank and interior heater on the nozzle of the cylinder head;
- Disconnect the high-voltage wire from the center terminal of the distributor cap and attach it to the side of the engine, and then disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster pipe at the intake manifold;
- In order to facilitate the removal / installation of the cylinder head cover can be removed the bumper, radiator grille and fan cooling system, headlights, front cross member and the bonnet lock mechanism. This procedure is not required, but it greatly facilitates access to the cylinder head of the engine;
- If the provided complete set, disconnect the oxygen sensor from the main wiring harness; as described in the instruction manual disconnect high-voltage wires from spark plugs and on tramblera; on machines equipped with engines ABF, ABU, AEA and AVD - remove the timer;
- If the vehicle is equipped with injection system, remove the throttle body and the fuel rail and injectors. On engines AEK ABF and remove the upper part of the intake manifold;
- If provided a complete set, remove the cover from the crankcase ventilation hose;
- If the vehicle is equipped with central injection, remove the air chamber throttle body, and then the throttle body;
- If provided a complete set, disconnect the vacuum hose from the exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR), a vacuum hose of the amplifier of brake system, air intake hose and the fuel pump;
- If the vehicle is equipped with a charcoal filter system EVAP, disconnect the vacuum hose from the nipple on the throttle;
- Relieve the pressure in the fuel system;
- Disconnect and remove the piping connecting the exhaust manifold to the air filter and the throttle body to the air flow meter;
- On engines with the central injection, remove the air chamber with the throttle body;
- Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever;
- Disconnect the hoses from the throttle body fuel supply and return (take precautions);
- Remove the camshaft cover by releasing its retaining nuts. In that case it is not separated, Tap the cap on all sides with light hammer with striker of a soft material. Next, remove oil wiper plate and remove the old cover gasket - the manufacturer recommends its replacement during removal;
- Remove the front cover of the toothed belt, the belt itself with the camshaft pulley;
- On engines ABD, AEA and ABU remove the camshaft sprocket; then remove the back cover of the camshaft drive belt. Note that on engines ABU, AEA, and ABD pump mounting bolts have a double function and are used to fasten the back cover of the camshaft drive belt - Remove the water pump from the engine block;
- Disconnect the wires coolant temperature sensor. On engines ABD, AEA, ABU it is located on the left side of the cylinder head by fitting the interior heater. On engines AAM, ABS, ADZ - front, over the pipe connecting the cylinder head and the radiator;
- Disconnect the exhaust system front pipe from the exhaust manifold; If the provided complete set, disconnect a hose of warm air from the heat shield of the exhaust manifold;
- Remove the bolt that secures the dipstick tube to the cylinder head; remove the wiring connector bracket from the cylinder head;
- Acting in the reverse tightening gently release (no more than half a turn per pass) the cylinder head bolts until they are hand otkruchivatsya;
- Remove the cylinder head, preferably resorting to any help, because it is heavy, particularly in the collection of the collectors;
- Remove from the block head gasket; Be careful: if the guides sit in the engine block is free, then remove them.
