Removing and installing brake booster



Withdrawal
Disconnect the battery.
Remove the air intake hose, the air filter (in vehicles with diesel engines and some gasoline) and battery.
On vehicles with 6-cyl. gasoline engine battery in the luggage compartment; accordingly necessary to remove the air filter housing with bracket. In addition, remove and set aside the launcher from an external source to the holder.
Remove the battery box holder.
Put in engine and transmission a sufficient amount of cloth that does not leave fibers.
Evacuate the maximum amount of brake fluid by a device for filling and pumping device or from the brake fluid reservoir.

For vehicles with manual transmission
Clamp the hose into the master cylinder clutch with the clamp up to 25 mm.
Remove the hose into the master cylinder clutch.

Continuation of the assembly operations for all vehicles

Remove the connector from the sensor A warning indicator float (Fig. 6.46).
Remove the connector C switch Brake F.

NOTE
On vehicles with HBV (hydraulic brakes with vacuum booster), disconnect the connector from the sensor low pressure brake booster.

Remove the vacuum hose from the brake servo.

For vehicles with manual transmission

Remove the rope drive 1, remove counter support 2 and set aside (Fig. 6.48).

On vehicles with two-liter TDI engine
Remove the charge air tube and extend as far as possible before transmission.

On vehicles with automatic transmission
Open the cable channel and remove the harness system Servotronic, remove the duct from the console and put it aside.
Hook the cable selector lever, remove the counter support and holder, put aside

Remove the cable holder selector lever (Fig. 6.49).

On vehicles with two-liter FSI 110 kW
Remove the connecting pipe for exhaust gas recirculation and cooling system hose holder on the cylinder head.

Continuation of the assembly operations for all vehicles
Remove brake pipes on the master cylinder, close the brake pipes using plugs from repair kit 1H0 698 311 A.

On vehicles with 6-cyl. petrol engine
Unscrew the nut of the master cylinder.
Carefully remove the brake master cylinder brake booster and remove the heat shield.
Remove the vacuum brake booster sensor.

Continuation for all vehicles
Unscrew the mounting nuts and remove the trim footwell of the driver.
Disconnect the brake pedal from the brake Amplifiers.
Remove nuts 1 brake booster.

Loosen the two upper nuts 2 support bracket (Fig. 6.50).
Remove the brake booster of a vehicle.
Unscrew the nut of the master cylinder.
Carefully remove the brake master cylinder brake booster.

Setting
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
When installing, consider the following.
Connect the brake pedal to the brake booster.
After ustnovki bleed the brake system and traction.

Tightening torques
The brake booster to the pedal assembly / transverse bulkhead 25 Nm.
The main brake cylinder to the brake booster 25 Nm.
Brake pipes to the master cylinder: 8.5 mm - 17 Nm 6 mm - 14 Nm.
