Charging the battery

Removed from the car battery gently clean, especially the upper part, check the electrolyte level (see. "Service Battery") and, if necessary, finish it to norm (if the car has served battery).
The battery charge current is 10% of the rated current of the battery, when inverted traffic jams. The battery capacity of 55 Ah charge current of 5.5 A. The charging is carried out prior to the abundant gas evolution and achievements of DC voltage and electrolyte density for 3 hours. The density of the electrolyte charged battery at 25 ? C must correspond to the data table. 10.4 for each climatic region.
When charging the battery periodically check the temperature of the electrolyte, or allow it to increase more than +40 ? C. If the temperature reaches +40 ? C, it is necessary to reduce by half the charging current or to interrupt charging of the battery and cooled to +27 ? C.
Charging is stopped when the start copious gas in all elements of the battery, and the voltage and electrolyte density recorded during the last three measurements (carried out after 1 hour after disconnecting the battery), will remain constant.
If at the end of charge the electrolyte density (determined based on the temperature correction) differs from the value specified in the table. 10.4, then adjust it. With the increased density of the electrolyte Collect and add distilled water. If the density of the electrolyte is below normal, then taking it from an item, add an electrolyte of high density (1.4 g / cm 3).
After adjusting the density of the electrolyte continue charging the battery for an additional 30 minutes to mix the electrolyte. Then, disconnect the battery and after 30 minutes, measure the level of the electrolyte in all cells. If the electrolyte level is below the norm, top up the electrolyte, the density of which corresponds to the given climatic zones (see. Table. 10.4). If the electrolyte level above the norm, Collect excess rubber bulb.
