Repair of the shock absorber
Repair absorber strut does not usually lead to the desired result, so if you need to replace the shock absorber is recommended. You will need: the keys "9", "19", the adaptation for spring compression. | | 2. Fit the spring and compress a spring. | 3. Remove the stem nut holding the rod from turning with a second key. |
| | 4. Remove the top support. | 5. Remove dished and flat washers. |
| | 6. Remove the protective cover assembly ... | 7. ... and buffer compression. |
8. Remove spring front suspension.
NOTE Replace springs in pairs (left and right simultaneously). |
| | 9. Remove the lower spring pad. | 10. Remove the nut from the shell shock absorber strut, holding it in a vise and rotating rack. |
HELPFUL HINTS If you do not have the grip, turn the nut an adjustable or pipe wrench. If the nut heavily corroded, try to turn it with a chisel and hammer. If it was not possible to turn the nut by the above methods, use a drill for drilling holes in the nut. When drilling may damage the shock absorber, so this method is best used only in case of replacement of the shock absorber. We recommend to replace the nut on the new shock absorber, regardless of its condition. |
NOTE Strut nut tightening torque of 200 Nm. |
| | 11. Remove the nut ... | 12. ... and remove the shock absorber from the rack enclosure. |
13. If necessary, disassemble the guard. Replace damaged parts. 14. Install the shock absorber vertically several times until it stops and lift the lower shock-absorber rod. Make sure that the rod is moved without failure, jamming and knocks. Otherwise, replace the shock absorber. In addition, change shock upon detection of liquid leakage tracks (permitted slight fogging in the housing upper part) and damage the threads in the upper part of the stem.
A WARNING Shock absorbers replace only in pairs (left and right simultaneously). |
15. Replace the damaged buffer compression stroke. 16. Replace the upper bearing, if the bearing is corroded, it has an axial movement in the housing support or jammed when turning.

17. Install the parts in reverse order of removal. During assembly, orient the protective cover so that the lug (arrow) on the left front facing forward (in the direction of the vehicle), and the right front - back. 6 Belleville washer bearing support set top bent edge up (see. Fig. 7.2). 18. Finally, tighten the stem nut a shock absorber on the car standing on the earth, the moment of 55 Nm.
NOTE After repair, check the shock absorber and adjust the wheel alignment. Take advantage of workshops, have special equipment. |
