Replacing the front hub bearing

You will need: a stripper bearing snap ring pliers, barbs, hammer
HELPFUL ADVICE
To replace the bearing is convenient to use a commercially available stripper for removing and installing hub bearings.
NOTES
Replace the front hub bearing is more convenient to carry out the removal of a vehicle shock absorber.
We recommend to replace both bearings of the hubs of the front wheels simultaneously.

1. Remove the front shock absorber (see. "Removing and installing shock absorber").
2. Clamp the rack in a vice and hammer knock the hub using a mandrel of suitable diameter (eg, face head).
3. Remove the hub. Likely to remain on the hub outer half of the inner ring of the bearing.
A WARNING
After removing the bearing hub for re-use is not suitable, so it must be replaced.

4. Use a stripper ...
5. ... to remove it from the hub.
6. Lightly hammer blows through the bearing mandrel face down into the socket fist to release the lock ring.
7. Remove the bearing retaining ring snap ring pliers.
8. Similarly remove the second ring.
9. Install the bearing puller, press out ...
10. ... and remove the bearing from the knuckle.
11. In the absence of a stripper beat out the bearing using a mandrel of suitable diameter, as extruded bearing can not be reused.
12. Clean the parts and lubricate the inner surface of the socket pin and the outer surface of the hub with a thin layer of grease Lithol-24.
13. Install the inner snap ring.
14. Press in the new bearing fully into the lock ring.

A WARNING
When pressing the bearing into the housing knuckle force should be applied to the outer ring of the bearing, otherwise, the bearing can be damaged.

15. Install the snap ring in the outer groove of the socket fist.
16. Press in the hub of the bearing up to the stop, fixing the inner ring of the bearing support.
A WARNING
When pressing in the hub does not fix the support of bearing inner ring, it can be damaged.

17. Install the shock absorber base on the car in reverse order of removal.
18. Check and adjust the wheel alignment. Take advantage of workshops, have special equipment.
