Repair the generator

You will need: face head "8" and TORX E6 extension cord knob, barbs, soldering iron tester, stripper for bearing the rotor.
1. Remove the generator from the vehicle (see. "Removing and installing the generator").
2. Remove the rotor shaft alternator pulley (see. "Replacing the alternator pulley") ...
3. ... and spacer sleeve.
4. Mark the relative position of the stator and generator covers.
5. Push the beard inside the generator cover two catches ...
6. ... and remove the side cover plate.
7. Similarly, push the two latches inside the protective cover of the rear bearing of the generator ...
8. ... and remove the cover.
9. Remove the three screws clamping lids generator ...
10. ... and remove the cover from the drive.
11. Remove the rotor shaft the remote plug and fan blades ...
12. ... and remove the rotor cover from outside contact rings.

NOTE
Inspect slip rings of the rotor. If they are teases, risks, scratches, wear tracks from brushes, polish the ring.

13. Unsolder three terminals of the stator winding of the rectifier unit ...
14. ... and remove the stator cover.
15. To remove the rectifier unit and the voltage regulator, remove the protective cover. To do this, push the two latches inside the cap ...
16. ... and remove the cover.
17. Remove the nut ...
18. ... and remove the pin from the bolt cover.
19. Remove the four screws on the rectifier unit and the voltage regulator ...
20. ... and remove them from cover.
21. Unsolder regulator output voltage of the rectifier unit ...
22. ... and disconnect the control voltage from the unit.
23. Remove the brush holder by pushing three of its fastening clamp.
24. Remove the brush from the brush holder body.
25. To remove a brush Unsolder its output from the voltage regulator.
26. Inspect the cover of the generator on the drive side. If you feel the rotation of the bearing clearance between the rings, roll or jamming of the rolling elements, damaged protective rings or there are traces of leaking grease, replace the bearing. If there are any cracks in the cover, especially in places of fastening of the generator, replace the cover of the new.
27. To replace the front bearing press out of its cover.
28. Press in the new bearing into the cover of suitable diameter mandrel, applying a force to the outer ring.
29. Check ease of rotation of the bearing from the slip rings. If you feel the rotation of the bearing clearance between the rings, roll or jamming of the rolling elements, damaged protective rings or there are traces of leakage of grease, bearing should be replaced. For this??
30. ... Xpress bearing puller to the shaft and install a new rotor by applying a force to the inner ring.
31. Check rotor winding resistance tester, connecting it to the slip rings. Resistance should be approximately 2 ohms. If the tester shows infinity, then open in the windings and the rotor should be replaced.
32. Check rotor winding circuit on "weight". To do this, connect the tester probes to the pole of the rotor, and in turn to the contact rings. Measured resistance should be infinite, otherwise replace the rotor.
33. Check stator windings for open, turn the tester by measuring the resistance between the windings of all the findings. If the measured resistance will tend to infinity, replace the stator.
34. Connect the tester probes to the body of the stator, and in turn to each of the conclusion of the windings. The measured resistance must be very large (tends to infinity). Otherwise replace the stator.
35. Check the rectifier unit. To do this, connect the tester probes to the conclusion phase stator coil and air cooler diodes. Changing places tester probes, measure the resistance. If the tester readings are identical in both cases, the rectifier unit is faulty and must be replaced.
36. Similarly, the other two check diode oscillator circuit.
37. Assemble the generator in reverse order, oriented the generator cover and stator housing on earlier made labels. Before installing the cover from outside contact rings drown brush and fix them in this position by inserting a pin into the hole cover of suitable diameter. After assembly, remove the pin.
