Replacement of steering draft



You will need: the keys "12", "15", "17", "19" key for wheel bolts, flat-blade screwdriver, a stripper of spherical hinges caliper.

NOTES
The work is more convenient to perform the lift. You can hold it and the vehicle mounted on the support.
Replacement is shown by the example of the left-hand track rod, right traction replace similarly.

1. Lift and establish on support a forward part of the car from the replaceable traction. Remove the wheel.
A WARNING
Slow down the car and set the parking brake at the rear wheel chocks ("boots").

HELPFUL ADVICE
If the fasteners are very dirty, clean them with a wire brush and treat grease easily penetrate, such as WD-40.

2. Having hooked a screwdriver, remove the retaining plate bolts to the steering gear steering rack.
3. Remove the bolt rod to the rail ...
4. ... and pull the bolt holes of the guide bar rails, tie rod and the support plate.
5. Pull the pull from the base plate and remove the washer.
6. Remove the nut ball joint of the tip, set the ball joint puller and press out the finger tip of steering draft (see. "Replacing the outer tie rod").
7. Remove from the car tie rod assembly.
8. Measure the free length of the adjusting screw.
9. Loosen the screw clamp connections ...
10. ... and turn the adjusting screw and the tip of the rod.

NOTE
In the bolt thread a different direction, so the bolt in rotation at the same time will be turned out of the draft and tip.

11. Clean and inspect parts Tie Rod, replace faulty parts.
12. Install the parts in reverse order of removal. When assembling, note the following requirement: the adjusting screw must be screwed into the rod tip and the same number of turns. In order to preserve the possibility of adjustment of the toe, the assembly rod guided by measurements (see. P. 8), the free length of the adjusting screw. The tightening torque of the bolt clamp connections 22 Nm nut ball joint 60 Nm bolts craving for steering rack 90 Nm.
13. Check and adjust the angles of the front wheels (see. "Check and adjust wheel alignment").
