Check and adjust wheel alignment



Check and adjust wheel alignment necessary to ensure a good stability and controllability of the car, as well as uniform tire wear during operation. Check and adjust the wheel alignment is performed on special stands according to the instructions on their use.
Adjusting the angle of camber and toe design of the rear wheels of the car are not available. Inconsistency actual values measured on the vehicle, the test values listed below, may be due to wear and deformation of the suspension components, the deformation of the body. Upon detection of abnormalities in the parameters of the rear suspension caused by the deformation of the body and its elements, it is necessary to find the cause of deviations and eliminate it by replacing broken parts.

Wheel alignment check on the vehicle without loading a half-filled fuel tank, normal air pressure in the tires and the absence of excessive backlash in hardpoints.
After setting the vehicle on the stand, just before checking angles, "prozhmite" suspension of the car, putting two or three times the force of 392-490 N (40-50 kg), directed from the top down, first to the rear bumper, and then to the front. The wheels of a vehicle must be positioned parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.
When checking and adjusting the angles of the front wheels, first check the angle of inclination of the longitudinal axis of rotation, then the camber angle and the last to toe.
The angle of inclination of the longitudinal axis of rotation of the front wheel is formed by the vertical and the line through the middle of the top support strut and the center of the sphere of the ball joint fixed to the lower arm. The angle of camber is characterized by the average deviation of the plane of rotation of the vertical. Adjusting the angle of camber of the car structure is not provided.
The convergence of the front wheels is the angle between the plane of rotation of the wheel and the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The convergence of the front wheels is controlled by varying the length of the track rod.
