|
Remove collars of fastening of a protective cover inner CV joint and remove the protective cover from the housing inner CV joint (Fig. 3.131).
ATTENTION Be careful not to damage the protective cover when removing. |
| Fig. 3.132. Removing the retaining ring with the drive shaft
|
Remove the retaining ring with the drive shaft, and then remove the tripod CV joint assembly (Fig. 3.132). Clean the tripod CV joint assembly. Remove the protective cover clips and remove the outer CV joint protective cover from the housing outer CV joint.
ATTENTION If you plan to reinstall the boot band, wrap (plastic) with insulating tape of the spline shaft, to prevent damage to the cover (Fig. 3.133). |
Check Check spline portion of the drive shaft in the absence of increased wear or damage. Make sure there is no water, foreign particles, dirt or rust in the outer CV joint protective cover. Make sure that the rollers on the axles tripod assembly rotate normally and there are no traces of increased wear or corrosion. Check the groove of the inner surface of the body CV joints for signs of wear or corrosion. Check the dynamic damper for damage or cracks.
Assembly Wrap (plastic) insulation tape splined part of the drive shaft to the inner CV joint to prevent damage to the dust cover. Grease the drive shaft and install the boot band.
Recommended lubricant The outer CV joint (BJ): CENTOPLEX 278M / 136K. The inner CV joint (TJ): KLKTJ 41-182 (MS511-50, KOREA KLUBER).
To set the dynamic damper, keeping the outer CV joints and drive shaft so that they are in a straight line, secure the dynamic damper clamp at the locations specified in Figure 3.134. Fill a special grease protective cover inner CV joint and set it in place. Attach the protective cover inner CV joint clamps. Add a special grease in the housing outer CV joint in an amount which corresponds to the amount of grease removed during the scan. Install a protective cover of the outer CV joint. Attach the protective cover of the external SHRUS collars.
Install the protective covers of the outer collars SHRUS at an appropriate distance from each other (in order to provide the necessary volume of air inside the boot), and then tighten the clamps (Fig. 3.135).
