Withdrawal Drain the coolant and disconnect from the coolant pump feed pipe connecting hose cooling system. Remove the alternator drive belt and the water pump pulley. Remove the cover and timing belt tensioner timing belt. Unscrew coolant pump, remove adjusting lath of the generator. Remove coolant pump assembly from the cylinder.
Check Check each part for cracks, damage or wear, and replace the water pump assembly if necessary. Check the bearing for damage, increased noise during operation and a slow rotation, and replace the water pump assembly if necessary. Check the pump for leaks coolant. If there is a coolant leak, the pressure packing defective. Replace coolant pump assembly.
Setting Remove the remnants of the old gasket from the mating surfaces of the coolant pump and cylinder block Install the inlet pipe into the groove of the cooling system O-ring. Lubricate the gasket with water (do not apply grease or oil).
Install the water pump with a new gasket and tighten the pump bolts to the specified torque (Fig. 2.297). Tightening torque fixing coolant pump to the engine block: 15-22 Nm. Install the timing belt tensioner and the belt. Adjust the tension of the timing belt. Install belt cover. Install the water pump pulley and alternator drive belt, and then adjust the belt tension. Fill the cooling system clean coolant. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
