Dismantling the propshaft
Removing the retaining rings
Before removing the locking ring mating marks relative position crossings and forks universal joint (Fig. 3.105). Remove the retaining ring using a special tool. Removing cross bearing universal joint
| Fig. 3.106. Removing cross bearing universal joint
|
With a special tool press out the bearing of the cross and the yoke (Fig. 3.106).
ATTENTION Not allowed knocking bearings when removed, as this may lead to a breach of balancing the driveshaft. |
Removing the bolts Double jointed shafts with length compensator (DOJ) in the collection
| Fig. 3.107. Tags relative position of the flange and the CV joint compensator length (DOJ) in the collection
|
Put labels and the relative position of the flange CV joint compensator length (DOJ) in the assembly (Fig. 3.107). Remove the bolts SHRUS compensator length (DOJ) to collect and remove the flange from the CV joint.
Removing the self-locking nut / release flange
| Fig. 3.108. Tags relative position of the rear propeller shaft and flange
|
Put labels relative position of the rear propeller shaft and flange (Fig. 3.108). Remove the flange from the rear propeller shaft.
Removing the intermediate support assembly Remove the center bearing assembly.
| Fig. 3.109. Removing the intermediate support assembly
|
Pull the intermediate support bracket and install the special tool (Fig. 3.109).
Removal of double jointed shafts with length compensator (DOJ)
Remove the protective cover from SHRUS "Lebroc" assembly (Fig. 3.110).
| Fig. 3.111. The position of the ball and separator
|
Put the mark on the relative position of the outer ring, cage and the inner cage SHRUS using scriber (Fig. 3.111).
NOTE Record the location of the balls so as not to confuse their original location during installation. |
| Fig. 3.112. Removing the inner ring and the cage with a CV joint front propeller shaft
|
With a universal (commercially available), a stripper, remove the inner ring and the cage with a CV joint front propeller shaft (Fig. 3.112).
Removing the boot band compensator length (DOJ)
If you plan to reinstall the boot band compensator length (DOJ), before removing the boot band, wrap the rear propeller shaft splines with tape (Fig. 3.113).
Check Check the propeller shaft splines for wear or damage.
Check grooves balls on the outer cage and the inner cage SHRUS "Lebroc" the absence of uneven wear, damage or rust (Fig. 3.114). Check the surface of the balls for rust, wear or other damage. Check separator SHRUS "Lebroc" there is no rust or damage. Installing the boot band compensator length (DOJ)
Wrap the splines PTO shaft with tape and install protective cover CV joint compensator length (DOJ) (Fig. 3.115).
Installing double jointed shafts with length compensator (DOJ) Apply a thin coat of special grease balls in the grooves on the outer and inner CV joint cage. Recommended lubricant: REAMAX FS ?.1
Set the separator on the inner ring SHRUS aligning the timing marks and set two balls so that they are arranged in mutually opposite grooves. In this case both the ball should be placed in the same slot in which they were set prior to disassembly SHRUS (Fig. 3.116).
| Fig. 3.117. Installation of the inner ring and the cage
|
Install the inner ring and cage assembly into the outer ring, the mark on their relative position (Fig. 3.117). Set the other balls in the grooves, according to their original location. Make sure that the outer cage SHRUS smoothly rotates the outer cage. Apply special grease in CV joints compensator length (DOJ) in the assembly. Recommended lubricant: REAMAX FS NO. 1 (95 ? 5 grams)
Apply a bit of a special adhesive at three points on the surface of the grooves under the balls located at the same distance from each other along the circumference SHRUS compensator length (DOJ), which has a groove for rubber seal, and then install the rubber seal on the CV joint compensator length (DOJ) (Fig. 3.118). Recommended adhesive: quick-drying adhesive 3M ATD Part No. 8121, 3M ATD Part No. 8155 or equivalent
Set CV joint compensator length (DOJ) assembly on the propeller shaft, aligning the holes for the bolts. Install a suitable tool head on the inner ring and CV joints, tapping with a hammer with plastic brisk, ensure a tight fit CV joint in place (Fig. 3.119).
NOTE When installing position SHRUS compensator length (DOJ) so that the side with a groove, which has previously been installed rubber seal SHRUS was sent to the boot band. |
Again, align the bolt holes in the boot band and SHRUS compensator length (DOJ) assembly with the bolts, and install a protective cover on the CV joints. Install rubber seal flange on the flange. The installation procedure is completely analogous to the procedure described in paragraph (g) above.
Install a protective cover clamp
ATTENTION Place the locking collar of a protective cover so that he was on the opposite side of the protective cover of the cover with respect to bosses, providing ventilation. Make sure that no grease protective cover around the bosses as a lubricant impede ventilation through the channels (Fig. 3.120). |
Installing the intermediate support assembly / installation flange / install self-locking nut Install the bearing and lock into the groove of the intermediate support.
| Fig. 3.121. The experimental setup of the intermediate support
|
Install the center bearing assembly to the front propeller shaft so that the boot intermediate support was located by the front propeller shaft (Fig. 3.121).
| Fig. 3.122. Combining marks on the flange and rear propeller shaft
|
Align the previously made the mark on the relative position to the flange and rear propeller shaft (Fig. 3.122). Firmly press the flange and intermediate bearing assemblies, tightening the self-locking nut.
Installing bolts SHRUS compensator length (DOJ) in the collection Align the previously made mark the relative position to the flange and SHRUS compensator length (DOJ) assembly before installing the bolts. Connect the flange and constant velocity joints with length compensator (DOJ) assembly mounting bolts. Check the flange and the CV joint compensator length (DOJ) for leaks grease.
Installing the intermediate support assembly
| Fig. 3.123. The experimental setup of the intermediate support
|
Install the bearing and lock into the groove rubber support bracket mounting the intermediate support (Fig. 3.123). Set anther intermediate support assembly so that it is located on the front side.
Installing the cross of the universal joint and the universal joint cross bearings
Apply multipurpose grease to the following parts of the universal joint and the bearing (Fig. 3.124). Cervical and weep groove cross. Working edge seals. Needle bearings. Recommended lubricant: ALVANIA EP GRADE ?.2
ATTENTION Do not use excessive amounts of grease. Excess lubricant will lead to difficulties in assembling and inappropriate choice of retaining rings. |
With a special tool to press-fit bearings yoke according to the following sequence of operations. Install the appropriate mandrel to a special tool. Install both bearings in the universal joint and press-fit them with a special tool.
Set of lock rings
| Fig. 3.125. The scheme of installation of a lock ring
|
Install the retaining rings of the same thickness on both sides of the universal joint. With a copper hammer to press in the bearing and the crossbar in the universal joint on one side. Measure the axial clearance of bearing the cross of the universal joint (between the retaining ring and bearing) using a feeler gauge. If the axial clearance exceeds the limit, then adjust it by choosing the appropriate thickness of the retaining ring. Standard value: 0.02-0.06 mm.
