Removal, check and installation of the timing belt

Withdrawal

Engine cover
Fig. 2.207. Engine cover

Remove the engine cover (Fig. 2.207).
Key 16 mm turn the lever of automatic belt tensioner mounted units clockwise about 14 degrees, remove the belt.
Remove the pulley power steering pump and the crankshaft, tensioner pulley and idler roller

The upper and lower timing belt cover
Fig. 2.208. The upper and lower timing belt cover

Remove the top and bottom timing belt cover (Fig. 2.208).
Remove the timing belt automatic tensioner.

Cranking
Fig. 2.209. Cranking

ATTENTION
Turn the crankshaft clockwise to align the timing marks on the crankshaft sprocket and block the respective piston TDC 1st cylinder (Fig. 2.209) .Ustanovochnye labels of asterisks of camshafts must be aligned with the reference marks on the valve cover

Remove the timing belt.

Marking the direction of rotation
Fig. 2.210. Marking the direction of rotation

NOTE
In the case of re-use of the timing belt should be applied in chalk on the back (non-working) surface of the belt an arrow indicating the direction of rotation (or the location of the crankshaft pulley) that during the installation of the belt not to confuse the direction of rotation (Fig. 2.210).

Check
At engine major repairs or adjusting the belt tension, carefully inspect the belt. If you find any of the following defects, replace with a new belt.
Solidification of the rear side of the belt.

Check solidification belt
Fig. 2.211. Check solidification belt

The back side of the belt becomes shiny and hard so that the nail, when pressed, does not leave a trace on it (Fig. 2.211).

Cracks and delamination on the surface of the belt
Fig. 2.212. Cracks and delamination on the surface of the belt

Cracks or delamination of the coating material of the teeth (Fig. 2.212).

Wear a side surface
Fig. 2.213. Wear a side surface

The side surface of the belt is worn (Fig. 2.213).

NOTE
Normal belt should have a distinct facets sides, cut with a knife like surfaces.

Strong tooth wear.
The initial stage: worn coating on the loaded side of the belt teeth (razlohmachivanie textile coating base, exposing rubber base, belt color changed to colorless, indistinct structure textile backing).
Last step: completely worn out floors and exposed rubber base on the loaded side of the belt teeth (tooth thickness is reduced).

Check tensioner
Fig. 2.214. Check tensioner

Circuit timing belt
Fig. 2.215. Circuit timing belt

Check the ease and smoothness of rotation of the roller tensioner timing belt and the guide roller, and make sure no excessive backlash and unusual noises during rotation. Replace if necessary (Fig. 2.214).

Setting

Installation of the guide roller
Fig. 2.216. Installation of the guide roller

Install the guide pulley belt boss coolant pump (Fig. 2.216).

NOTE
The guide pin clip must be fully enter the boss.

Install the automatic tensioner arm together with the puck on the engine block.
Set the lever clip automatic tensioner.

Setting stars
Fig. 2.217. Setting stars

Install the camshaft sprocket and align the mark on a frame (Fig. 2.217).

NOTE
When tightening the bolts stars camshaft hold the shaft from turning the hexagon shaft

If the mark on the camshafts do not coincide with the frame, turn the shaft in the right direction, but no more than three tooth sprocket, as occurs further contact of the valve and the piston.
If necessary, rotate more than three teeth crankshaft rotate counterclockwise by about 45 degrees. Carefully turn the camshaft and crankshaft return to its original position.
Install the automatic tensioner.

Dowel pin
Fig. 2.218. Dowel pin

ATTENTION
Before installing the lock plunger automatic tensioner suitable housing pin (Fig. 2.218).

Check the alignment of timing marks with the frame and put the belt in the following sequence:
Crankshaft - guide roller - left camshaft - the coolant pump - right camshaft - tensioner pulley

Remove dowel pin
Fig. 2.219. Remove dowel pin

Remove the locking pin pusher automatic tensioner (Fig. 2.219).
Set the top and bottom covers timing belt
Install pulley power steering pump and the crankshaft, tensioner pulley and idler roller.
Key 16 mm turn the lever of automatic belt tensioner mounted units clockwise about 14 degrees, put on a belt.
Install the engine cover.

Check belt timing
Rotate the crankshaft two turns clockwise to the first cylinder piston at TDC compression stroke. Pause for five minutes.

Tappet clearance
Fig. 2.220. Tappet clearance

Measure the protrusion of the auto tensioner push rod. The protrusion should be between 6-8 mm (Fig. 2.220).
Check the alignment of timing marks with the frame.

NOTE
If the combination of labels is not, repeat the installation procedure timing belt.
