Starting the engine from the auxiliary power supply

When starting the engine from the auxiliary battery should be mindful of the need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Before connecting the auxiliary battery, make sure the ignition is off (the key is turned to OFF).
  • Make sure to turn off all electrical vehicle (lights, heater, windshield wipers, etc.).
  • Be sure to wear safety glasses.
  • Make sure that the auxiliary battery output voltage corresponds to the installed on your vehicle.
  • If a start is made from a battery mounted on another vehicle, make sure that between the cars did not have in common!
  • Make sure the transmission is set to neutral (Manual), or to "P" (Park) (AT).
  • If the auxiliary battery is a type of serviceable, detach the vent caps and cover the holes with rags.

Connect the red wire from the kit to start the engine from the auxiliary power between positive () terminals of both batteries. Then connect the second (black) cable from the kit first to the negative (-) terminal of the auxiliary battery, and then to a well-grounded point on your car (such as a bolt or bracket on the engine block, as far as possible within a distance of 45 cm from the battery). Make sure the wires do not touch the moving components of the engine compartment (such as fan blades, belts, etc.).

Connect the wires from the kit to start the vehicle from the auxiliary power source in the order shown in the diagram (note that the auxiliary battery negative cable is not connected to the negative terminal of low battery).

Start the engine from the auxiliary battery, then let it run at idle, turn the fan motor heater (the maximum speed) or heater glass to smooth voltage peaks that may occur when disconnecting wires (do not include lighting products, as significant leaps voltage may cause burn lamps). Disconnect, acting in the reverse order of their connection.
