Dismantling the pinion shaft and housing

Hold the pinion shaft, as shown in Figure 5.20, remove the casing and the pinion shaft.

NOTE
If the gear shaft can not be removed by hand, use a press.

Pull gear shaft from the valve body as shown in Figure 5.21.

Carefully remove the retaining ring, trying not to damage the pinion shaft.
