Data for adjustment and maintenance

In connection with the installation of the engines of the electronic fuel injection and changed two types of routine maintenance: the replacement of the fuel filter, as well as checking and adjusting the speed of the crankshaft of the engine idling. The recommended service interval is the same as for the model of earlier releases.

WARNINGS
The power supply system is under pressure. Before disconnecting system components necessary to remove pressure on the system. To do this, close the connection point and a clean cloth, being careful, gently loosen the union nut.
Gasoline is extremely flammable, when working with elements of the power system is forbidden to use fire, the sparking devices open by fire-dangerous light devices and smoking. Avoid creating sparks when working with cables and electrical devices.
Because gasoline is a carcinogen, it is necessary to exclude them from getting to the body and paint the car. Otherwise, you should immediately wash the affected area with soap and water.

Replacement of the fuel filter
According to the manufacturer's instructions on models with fuel injection systems, fuel filter should be
change every 55,000 kilometers vehicle.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
The fuel filter is installed on the left front shock absorber cup around the master cylinder reservoir.

Prepare a sufficient amount of cloth to absorb the spilled gasoline. Remove the two screws on the filter housing (one on each side) and loosen the clamps and remove the hoses (Fig. 15.1, 15.2). Drain fuel from the filter residues.

Remove the nuts mounting bracket to the filter cup shock absorber and remove the filter.
Install the new filter to the bracket and secure the nuts.
Install a new copper gasket on both ends of the housing and tighten the cap bolts to torque.

A WARNING
On models 1986 and 1987 model years, this operation is performed after the first run of 3500 km and then every 25 000 km. On models of release since 1988, the engine speed is at idle speed is controlled automatically by the control unit processor.

Connect the engine tachometer. On the engine warmed up to operating temperature after installation selector lever to position "park" or "neutral" for
3 minutes, increase the frequency of engine speed to 2500 min -1 Z000.
Check the ignition timing and adjust it if necessary.
If the vehicle is operated at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level, disconnect the connector bypass solenoid valve.
If the fan cooling system, set the engine to idle and wait until the fan stops.

Check the engine speed to idle. If it is incorrect, adjust it by turning the screw on the body of the choke (Fig. 15.3).
If the solenoid valve connector has been disconnected, connect it.
