brake system

On all models from the end of 1984 installed ventilated front brake discs and new calipers due to increased thickness of the disc.

Replacing brake pads on the rear disk brakes
Lock the front wheels, then lift the rear of the car and fix on support. Remove the rear wheels and disinhibited vehicle parking brake.
Loosen the lock nut and remove the cover of a cable from the parking brake caliper bracket.

Elements of the rear disc brake
Fig. 14.34. Elements of the rear disc brake 1 - the parking brake cable;
2 - a brake hose; 3 - the brake pads and caliper; 4 - guide pins; 5 - the bearing; 6 - a nut; 7 - hub cap; 8 - Disc; 9 - a support arm; 10 - guard rear brake

Disconnect the parking brake cable from the lever support (Fig. 14.34).
Unscrew and remove the upper and lower guide pins slide. Remove the caliper from the bracket and place it on the rear brake guard not to stretch brake hose.
Use a screwdriver to press the brake pads from the caliper. Mark the position of protivoskripnoy spring.
Brush clean the inner cavity of the caliper piston gland and check for leaks. If he misses the brake fluid, remove the caliper to repair or replace it. Remove all remnants of the outer brake pad left after her support.
Pliers inserted into the holes, turn the plunger all the way clockwise and simultaneously push it into the caliper, which will establish a mechanism for self-regulation in the original position and increase additional space for the installation of new brake pads. The final position of the cutouts should be such that the dowel pin internal pads included in the inner recess.
The tube with the ground is supplied with the new brake pads. Apply a layer of earth on the rear side of the outer block immediately before its installation.
Set protivoskripnuyu spring in the holes in the brake pads. Clutching the two pads together, install them in the caliper, making sure that the locating pin in the outer block into the hole in the piston, and a spring on the outer block fixed at the ends of the branched support.
Install the caliper bracket. Apply a bit of high-temperature lubricant to the sliding surface of the guide pin and bushing, then screw the guide pins and tighten their demanded torque. Cones fingers should be clean, to sit tight.
Install the parking brake cable housing to the bracket and tighten the nut.
Attach the handbrake cable to the lever support.
Install the rear wheels and lower the car to the ground.
Press the brake pedal several times to install the brake pads into position.

Removing and installing brake caliper rear disc brakes
Lock the front wheel, lift the rear of the car and fix on support.
Remove the rear wheels and disinhibited vehicle parking brake.
Loosen the lock nut and remove the cover of a cable from the parking brake caliper bracket. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the lever support (see. Fig. 14.34).
Install the brake hose clamp on the hose to the caliper.
Remove the banjo bolt and remove the caliper brake hose. Remove the washers.
Remove the upper and lower guide pins and remove the caliper bracket. Press the brake pads.
Check out the guide pins and bushings for wear and damage; if necessary, replace them.
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal. Tighten all bolts and nuts to torque, remove the air from a hydraulic drive of brake system. Press the brake pedal several times to install the brake pads into position.

Repair caliper rear disc brakes
Remove the caliper and thoroughly clean the outer surface.
Remove the piston from a support, which supply air at low pressure in the brake cylinder through an aperture for connection of a brake hose, brake pads, instead of setting a block of wood. Pressures should be sufficient only to push the piston out of the hole. Piston, departing under the influence of a lot of effort, even if a block of wood is left in place, could be damaged.

Elements caliper rear disc brakes

2 - the rubber cap; 3 - upper dust seal; 4 - finger; 5 - Clip; 6, 16 - dust seals; 7 - the piston; 8 - piston gland; 9 - a lock ring; 10 - emphasis; 11 - a sealing ring; 12 - Self-adjusting spindle parking brake; 13 - lower dust seal; 14 - the lever of the spindle;
15 - a returnable spring; 17 - cap; 18 - bracket the parking brake cable

Remove the clip and dust seal from the piston (Fig. 14.35).
Remove the oil seal from the cylinder piston calipers.
Pliers, with thin lips, remove the retaining ring from the bottom of the cylinder support.
Remove the spindle is self-adjusting parking brake, sealing ring, focus and finger.
Remove the dust seals and covers the guide pin.
Remove the bracket bolts shell parking brake cable.
Disconnect the return spring, and remove the lever spindle gland.
If necessary, remove the screw of removal of air.
Clean all components and check them for wear and damage. In particular, check the surface of the piston and cylinder of a support, as well as adjusting the needle bearing spindle.
Purchase a repair kit seals, other necessary parts. For repairs require lubrication of red, white and orange colors: red Lubrication - Gland piston white - O-ring of the adjusting spindle and orange - for dust seals, needle bearing, spindle and the guide pin.
The assembly is carried out in sequence, return dismantling; at the same time make sure that the locking pins into the holes in the caliper body.
