Check and replacement parts

The electric motor
Check the wires the electric power supply circuit of the motor, get the pin and screw driver, disconnect it.

Wiring diagram for checking the current consumed by an electric radiator fan
Fig. 5.5. Wiring diagram for checking the current consumed by an electric radiator fan

In accordance with the scheme shown in Fig. 5.5, using an ammeter and check the battery current consumption of the motor.
If the current consumption is not within the standard value, replace the motor.

Intermediate radiator fan relay
Disconnect the connector from the temperature switch and check the radiator fan when you turn the key in the ignition switch to ?ON?. If the fan is turned on, it means that the relay correctly.

Location intermediate radiator fan relay

If the fan is not included, the cause may be an open circuit or a blown fuse. If the electrical circuit and the insert are correct, replace the relay by disconnecting the connector and remove the screws (Fig. 5.6).

A WARNING
Not allowed disconnecting from the Switch, if the key is in the ignition switch is in the ?ON?, in order to avoid the automatic inclusion of the fan of a radiator.

Switch
Drain the cooling system to a level corresponding to the lower edge of the thermostat housing.
Remove the pin and remove the thermal switch.
Place the thermal switch in a container with hot water. When the water temperature to 90 ? C temperature switch contact must be closed. Heat the water temperature switch contact must be opened before the water boils. If the results of both tests are negative, replace the thermal switch.
When replacing temperature switch radiator fan do not forget to install the O-ring, otherwise it could leak coolant.
Add a liquid cooling system to the required level.

Water pump
Check
Faulty water pump can cause the engine to overheat and damage it (the engine is not cooled by circulating coolant).
The efficiency of the water pump can be checked in three ways without removing it from the engine. If the pump is faulty, it must be replaced or repaired.
Warm up the engine to operating temperature and pinch the upper radiator hose.
If the pump is working properly, then when you release the hose will feel a boost from the pressure of the coolant.
The housing includes a water pump for controlling liquid leakage holes. When tightness of the pump through the holes will be a small leak. To ensure a leak through the pump, remove the bottom casing of a gear timing belt and the underside of the car illuminate the lower part of the pump housing a powerful lamp.
If you have failed water pump shaft bearings, then from the front of the engine will be heard a sharp screeching sound. Wear on the shaft there is backlash pump pulley swing up and down.
All pump components are interchangeable, but the work on its maintenance should be entrusted to a specialist or to hand over the pump to the service center, as special tools required for fitting.
Refitting
Check out the warning in section. 2.
Drain the coolant.
Remove casings of a gear belt and timing belt. Remove the timing belt tensioner pulley.
Disconnect the inlet hose from the water pump.
Remove the bolts of the water pump.

Water pump

With a large screwdriver or a suitable size of the blade mounting separate water pump, while shaking it to withdraw from the engagement gear pump (Fig. 5.7).
Shifting the water pump forward, remove the screws and remove the inlet pipe.
Remove the water pump from the engine compartment.
Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces of the pump from the remnants of lining. Inspect and clean the annular groove under the seal.
Lubricate O-ring with petroleum jelly and place in the groove. Before installation grease sealing both sides of the gasket.
Install a water pump in place and attach the inlet tube. Wrap the hand of the two mounting bolts of the pump.
Wrap the remaining bolts and crosswise tighten their demanded moment.
Connect the inlet hose.
Install the timing belt and belt guard.
Fill the cooling system antifreeze.

The electric fan heater
Refitting
Disconnect the negative battery terminal. To facilitate access to the motor heater remove the bottom cover from the instrument panel on the passenger side.
Remove the pin, remove the screws and remove the motor from the housing.
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal.
