Models of Mercedes E-Class are equipped with a hydraulic dual-circuit braking system. Compared with the previous model, the front and rear axles Mercedes E-Class set of larger diameter brake discs.
Particular attention was paid to the designers of the rear brakes. In the models E 200, E 230 and the diesel variant of the diameter of the rear brake discs increased by 20 mm and is 278 mm.
In 4-cylinder diesel models, and the diameter of the front brake discs increased by 4 mm.
There were also increased clamping force and surface area of the front brake pads. For 4-, 5- and 6-cylinder Mercedes-Benz models developed the "floating" saddle brakes are used on the front wheels. The rear wheels were hard saddle brakes ensure reliable braking of both wheels.
For all Mercedes E-Class series is put electronically controlled anti-lock braking system (ABS).
