The choice of the buyer presented a total of more than ten engine variants (and 5-cylinder 2.5-liter diesel engine E-Class is specially delivered to the markets of Italy, Greece and Portugal).
Since July 1998 at the E-Class there are two models with direct injection: Mercedes E 200 CDI and Mercedes E 220 CDI, which replaced the Mercedes E 220 from June 1999. Both of these engines were produced increased power. In addition, production was started on Mercedes E 270 CDI and the Mercedes E 320 CDI, which in August 1999 replaced the Mercedes E 300 D.
Models of Mercedes E-Class:
1. diesel engines:
Mercedes E 200 CDI, Mercedes E 220 D and Mercedes E 220 CDI - 4-cylinder;
Mercedes E 250 D, Mercedes E 270 CDI and 290 Mercedes E TD - 5-cylinder;
Mercedes E 300 D and Mercedes E 320 CDI - 6-cylinder.
2. With petrol engines:
Mercedes E 200 and Mercedes E 230 - 4-cylinder in-line;
Mercedes E 240, Mercedes E 280 and Mercedes E 320 - 6-cylinder in the sacking and the V-shaped performance;
Mercedes E 420, Mercedes E 430, Mercedes E 50 AMG and the Mercedes E 55 AMG - 8-cylinder, V-shaped.
In the Mercedes Motors offers high technology. There is already accustomed to 3- and 4-valve cylinder head and a fully electronic engine management. Different timing supplemented by various amounts of suction pipe. Analyzers lubrication system facilitates control of the operation of the engine and extends oil change. And the most modern diesel Mercedes engine features a direct injection combined with turbocharging and charge air cooling.
