Adjusting the wheel bearing endplay



Adjust the wheel bearing endplay must be carried out as follows:
- The front part of the car mounted on a support;
- Remove the front wheel with the right hand;
- Squeeze the brake pads against the disc. If necessary, unscrew the support, so that they can move freely;

- To remove the hub cap. To this end generally use puller shown in Fig. 212;

- According to the figure. 213 loosen the Allen bolt with the locking clip 2 and while turning the hub terminal to move as long as it will not be free to rotate;
- Then unscrew the bolt locking clip 1/3 turn. Plastic mallet at the end of the axis 3, weaken the force between the parts;

- Set the control device 3 (Fig. 214) from the magnetic holder on the hub shaft 2 and 1 draw in about 2 mm;
- To measure the axial play of the hub. Before each measurement, rotate the hub, but not during the measurement. Backlash should be in the range of 0.2 to 0.4 mm;
- Allen key to tighten the bolt clamp locking torque 10-16 Nm and then measure the backlash of the bearing hub. The play is set correctly, if the washer located between the outer bearing and clamp can rotate with little effort;
- Apply grease to the hub cap and drive;
- Establish a wheel and lower the car. Tighten the wheel bolts torque of 160-180 Nm.
