Brief description of the device

The necessary pressure is created in the lubrication system of the gear-type oil pump driven by a separate chain from the crankshaft sprocket. The circuit is equipped with a separate tensioning device.

Arrangement of the oil pump in front of the engine
Fig. 119. Arrangement of the oil pump in front of the engine 1 - the crankshaft sprocket; 2 - shoe chain tensioner; 3 - chain tensioner; 4 - star camshaft drive; 5 - upper damper chain; 6 - sprocket drive of the fuel pump; 7 - lower damper chain; 8 - chain tensioning lever oil pump; 9 - the oil pump drive sprocket

Apparatus oil pump (engine index 602)
Fig. 120. The apparatus of the oil pump (engine index 602): 1 - the adjusting pin chain tensioner; 2 - guide bush chain tensioner; 3 - spring; 4 - chain tensioner oil pump; 5 - a bolt of fastening of the oil pump; 6 - the directing plug; 7 - partition of the oil pump; 8 - a bolt of fastening of the oil pump septum; 9 - the oil pump housing; 10 - piston pressure reducing valve of the oil pump; 11 - a spring; 12 - stop bolt pressure reducing valve of the oil pump; 13 - cap; 14 - a conducted gear wheel of the oil pump; 15 - drive shaft with the drive gear; 16 - the drive sprocket; 17 - washer; 18 - a bolt of fastening of the oil pump drive sprocket; 19 - Castle chain drive of the oil pump; 20 - chain drive oil pump

In Fig. 119 shows the arrangement of the oil pump. The oil pump may be replaced without dismantling the engine. Individual components of the pump and its drive are illustrated in Fig. 120 for example, the five-cylinder engine. Usually in the case of failure the pump is not repaired, and replaced in the assembly.

The control lamp of pressure of oil
Fig. 121. The control lamp of pressure of oil

Control lamp of level of oil in the instrument cluster (symbol depicting a lubricator on Fig. 121) lights up if the oil level is at the bottom of the label probe and indicates that the oil must be topped up. Be sure to use a special oil for diesel engines.

A warning
At fire of a control lamp of pressure of oil should immediately stop the engine and bring the engine oil level to normal.
