Removing and installing cylinder caps

With the side and end sides of the cylinder plug mounted holes which are extruded from a block in the event of freezing of the coolant. From the side coolant drain plug on the cylinder block is provided with two plugs with a diameter of 34 mm, and the opposite side (on the side of the oil filter) are two plugs of the same diameter. With the end housing side is provided a plug 5 (see. Fig. 67) with a diameter of 17 mm. Another plug 2 (see. Fig. 66) with a diameter of 34 mm is pressed with the front end side of the cylinder block. These plugs can be changed in case of freezing cooling liquid without removing the motor, but by using a special tool. To do this, follow these steps:
- Drain the cooling liquid;
- Remove the parts and components that may prevent access to the stubs;

Removing the plug from the unit

- Narrow chisel or a large screwdriver set at an edge of the cap (Fig. 69) and rotate the hammer plug in the bore by 90 ?� around its axis (Fig. 70);
- To capture the stub pipe clamp and pull from the cylinder, as shown in Fig. 70;
- Thoroughly clean the mounting hole plugs in the engine block. On the sealing surface should not remain traces of grease;
- Smear seating hole fixing means Loctite insert new cap with a special mandrel (number specification - 102 589 00 15 00) or other suitable mandrel so that it is flush with the surface of the cylinder;
- Install all the removed parts into place, and after a pause of 45 minutes to fill the engine coolant, if it is not removed from the vehicle;
- Then let the engine and check it for leaks.
