The crankshaft and flywheel

A crankshaft for converting reciprocating motion of pistons into rotary motion. For more stiffness each crank pin is located between the two indigenous (polnooporny crankshaft). For this reason, considered in this publication engines have different amounts of the crankshaft bearing. On the four-cylinder engine has five main bearings, and five-cylinder engine - six. For additional equilibration crankshaft counterweights mounted thereon, the number of which is determined by the number of cylinders of the engine, namely, on the four-cylinder engine crankshaft is set six, and five-cylinder engine crankshaft - ten balances. Transmission is mounted on the crankshaft flywheel, and in the case of automatic transmission - its slave and master drives. Both in the first and in the second case, these parts are provided with teeth for meshing with a starter pinion. At the front end of the crankshaft sprocket planted camshaft drive chain and sprocket drive of the oil pump. They are not visible from the outside, since they are under the cover of the camshaft drive mechanism. Visible from the front end of the crankshaft pulley is made only under the ribbed belt drive for the individual units of the automobile. These units, depending on the vehicle may be an electric generator, water pump, power steering pump and air conditioning compressor system. Vibration damper (vibration damper) mounted between the pulley and the pulley hub (see. Sect. 2.9). As already mentioned, the four-cylinder engine block 601 has undergone some changes in comparison to previous models. These changes have also cranked shaft - bearings and bearing cap bolts, which means that parts of the same type of engines, but different years of release can be interchangeable.
