The propeller shaft



Remove and install propeller shaft snap. The flanges of the shaft on the one hand bolted to a flange of the gearbox, on the other hand - to a flange of the rear axle. Apparatus propshaft discussed in the description of removal and disassembly.

The device is a three-section propeller shaft

Depending on the modification of a vehicle propeller shaft may consist of two or three sections. Their length in different models also vary because of the different types of cars and the base mounted gearboxes - manual or automatic. The device is a three-section propeller shaft shown in Fig. 241. Two-piece bridge has only one intermediate support, but otherwise it is identical to the mounting connection and Triplex.
The propeller shaft is not under repair. If one or both joints are out of order, it is necessary to replace the entire propeller shaft. However, before buying a new shaft at the service station to find out about the possibility of Mercedes repair.
