The transmission line is arranged 5/6 speed manual gearbox / 5-speed automatic transmission with electronic control and separately installed behind the assembly Manual transmission / AT transfer case, two drive shafts connected to the main gear differentials front and rear drive axles. By type of drive the ML are among the 4WD-Full Time (always-on all-wheel drive), in which the distribution of torque between the front and rear axles is carried out automatically under the control of the electronic unit.

The front suspension is fully independent. Assembling the front axle is formed by a torsion rod / stabilizer bar, two lower triangular wishbones, interconnected sub-frame. Suspension bridge organized by two telescopic shock absorbers, upper triangular wishbone and two longitudinal torsion spring (rod).

The rear suspension is also completely independent. Assembling the rear axle is formed by a torsion rod / stabilizer bar and two lower triangular wishbones, interconnected sub-frame. Suspension bridge organized by two shock absorber struts with coil springs, upper wishbones transverse and two longitudinal stretch marks.

To ensure the safety of movement M-Class models are equipped with electronic protivozanosnoy system (system of stabilization of stability - ESP), Brake Assist (BAS), anti-lock braking system (ABS) and brake force distribution (EBV).

The standard brake system - hydraulic, dual circuit with vacuum booster. Brake mechanisms of all wheels - disc. Apply the parking brake pedal.

The drive steering used hydrostrengthening rack gear to the valve input node, and two tie rods, Hydroenhancement organized by sensitivity to vehicle speed scheme (SPS), which can significantly facilitate "taxiing" when parking, as well as increases the security control at driving at high speeds.
