Check glow plugs

If you have problems when you start the engine in the first place, check correct functioning of all the spark plugs.

Verification is performed on a cold motor (ambient temperature) and a fully charged battery (output voltage of less than 11.5), glow plugs must remain in their regular places.

Check of power supply

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the trim panel of the power unit.
  2. With the help of a suitable tool such as HAZET 4760-5 disconnect the glow plug wiring.
  3. Connect the contact between the spark plug wire and ground lamp-sampler.
  4. Turn on the ignition, leave the ignition key in the position preheat activation and follow the lamp - it should light up, confirming serviceability of giving power to the spark plug.
  5. Acting in a similar way, check the wiring of the remaining candles.
  6. Unplug the lamp-sampler and go to check the actual candles (See below.).

Checking the glow plugs

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Connect an ohmmeter between the terminals and body candles make sure that there are no signs of breaking the spiral - conductivity should take place (the resistance is not equal to infinity), otherwise the plug must be replaced. Operating in a similar manner, check each of the candles.
  2. Restore initial connection of wiring and replace the trim panel of the power unit.
