Installing the cylinder head

Install the sleeve into place the oil pump drive sprocket and the crankshaft together with their keys. Keyways must thus be in the "12 o'clock" and the label on an asterisk should be in the "engine."

Installing the drive chain idler sprocket on the crankshaft sprocket
Fig. 2.23. Installing the drive chain idler sprocket on the crankshaft sprocket

Replace damper drive chain idler sprocket. Install the drive chain idler sprocket so that the unit was located against the silvery marks on the crankshaft sprocket, located in the "7:00" (Fig. 2.23).

Area applying a layer of sealant on the front cover of the timing and location of the O-rings
Fig. 2.24. Area applying a layer of sealant on the front cover of the timing and location of the O-rings

Apply a layer of sealant to the mounting surface of the front cover timing. Make sure you have in place two O-rings (Fig. 2.24). Replace the front cover of the timing, making sure that the drive hub of the oil pump included in the cover.

Location of the front cover bolts timing
Fig. 2.22. Location of the front cover bolts timing

Replace the front cover by tightening its screws: a brief moment of 0.6-0.9 kgf ? m, long moment of 1.6-2.2 kg ? m (see. Fig. 2.22).
Replace the right engine mount bracket (bolt torque 4,4-5,6 kgf ? m), and then remove the prop from under the engine.
Replace the oil receiver with a new seal. Apply a layer of sealant to the mating surface of the oil sump. Install it and tighten cross-wise bolts. On vehicles with automatic transmission, set the lower protective cover of the torque converter. Install anti-vibration spacers on the power unit. Replace the bottom rail and tighten bolts to 7,9-10,0 kg ? m. Install the front exhaust pipe with a new gasket. Drive by means of appropriate diameter mandrel new crankshaft oil seal, its pre-lubricated with engine oil. Install the pulley on the crankshaft. Insert and tighten to 13.5-15.5 kg ? m pulley bolt, lubricate it with engine oil.

Installing the drive chain to the intermediate star
Fig. 2.25. Installing the drive chain to the intermediate star

Install the intermediate sprocket so that the mark on the big asterisk is set to "1:00" (Fig. 2.25) and located against the chain link in silver. In this position mark on the intermediate sprocket should be at a distance of 40 units from the marks on the crankshaft sprocket. Install the timing chain on the small sprocket and align the intermediate link in the chain of golden color with a tag, which is set to "4:00". Install the intermediate axle sprocket. Make sure you have the installation of plugs on the cylinder block. Place a new head gasket on the engine block. Replace the cylinder head with the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold. Insert the bolts of the cylinder head and washers. Pre-lubricate the engine oil to the bolt and the inner surface of the bolt heads. The chamfers on the puck must be sent to the heads of bolts.

Tightening bolts of the cylinder head
Fig. 2.21. Tightening bolts of the cylinder head

In the sequence shown in Fig. 2.21, tighten the bolts specified torque.

Marking camshafts

Tightening bolts of covers bearing housings camshafts
Fig. 2.27. Tightening bolts of covers bearing housings camshafts

Tighten the bolt of the intermediate sprocket. Install camshafts, paying attention to their labeling (Fig. 2.15).
Pin inlet camshaft must be set to 10-11 ? below the position "9 o'clock" and the pin shaft exhaust valves set at "12 o'clock" (Fig. 2.26). Apply engine oil to the cervix and cams of camshafts and set the cover in accordance with Fig. 2.16, then tighten the cover bolts in the sequence shown in Fig. 2.27.

Lock chain tensioner timing
Fig. 2.28. Lock chain tensioner timing

Apply a layer of sealant to the coupling surface additional support exhaust camshaft from the distributor of ignition. In the case of disassembling the valve mechanism to check the gaps in the valve operating mechanism. Insert the camshaft sprocket in a chain camshaft drive (mark on the sprocket must face "the engine") and align the mark on each sprocket with silver chain links. Put an asterisk on his toes camshaft and install the pins into the slots. Insert and tighten the pre-oiled bolts Stars. Replace the chain tensioner timing. To facilitate the installation of the tensioner lock it with a metal plunger rod of suitable diameter (Fig. 2.28). After installation, remove the rod to unlock the tensioner. Install the timing chain drive sprocket intermediate semicircular notch down. Turn on two turns a crankshaft of the engine and return it to the point of initial installation (first cylinder at TDC of the compression stroke).

Checking the installation timing chain
Fig. 2.29. Checking the installation timing chain

In Fig. 2.29 check the accuracy of the installation of camshafts and chain drive on the number of links between the circuits shown in the figure labels.

Setting the ignition distributor
Fig. 2.30. Setting the ignition distributor

Sing Apply sealant to the gasket surface and install the front cylinder head cover. Apply a layer of sealant to the mating surface of the housing of the thermostat and set the thermostat. Install the pulley the coolant pump. Replace the ignition distributor (Fig. 2.30), and re-check that the piston in the 1st cylinder is at TDC compression stroke (cam lobe pointing upwards) and the marks made during removal, match (the rotor is in the "5:00 "). Replace the cover of the distributor of ignition and connect it to the wire. Check and adjust the clearances in the valve mechanism. Install the cylinder head cover with a new gasket. Replace the spark plug and connect them to the wires. Install the bracket arm cylinder head. Install the intake manifold bracket. Place the bundles of cables. Dock disconnected electrical connectors. Follow the remaining operations in the reverse order of removal. Fill coolant cooling system. Check the level of oil and other fluids. Start up the engine and check for leaks and normal operation of the unit.
