Ignition and engine control
The basic data and security measures The ignition system ensures the ignition Combustion cylinder gasoline engine air-fuel mixture. For the formation of the spark intensity required 12-volt system voltage is converted to a high-voltage ignition coil voltage. Electronic ignition is an integral part of the engine management system. Its main operating components are candles, coils and ignition modules. Feed distribution / O voltage to the spark plug controls the engine electronic control unit (ECM). Manual adjustment of the ignition timing is not performed - in violation of the required settings must replace the failed component. Ignition system components not subject to wear and do not require regular maintenance. In accordance with the maintenance schedule (see chap. Adjustment and car routine maintenance) must be carried out only by the replacement of spark plugs. Basic information on work and sensor systems, engine management and fuel injection are set out in Chapter power supply system and exhaust system. Safety precautions when working with the ignition system and fuel injection control In order to prevent injury and / or breakdown of the components of electrical and electronic systems must be observed the following: - Do not touch the ignition system wiring or disconnect its connectors with the engine running / rotating starter;
- Perform disconnecting / connecting the fuel injection control system, electrical ignition system as well as any diagnostic and measuring equipment only when the ignition is switched off;
- Not allowed perform maintenance of an electronic ignition system by people with a pacemaker implanted.
