Ignition system

On the Golf and Jetta are two kinds of ignition. At engines volume of 1.1; 1.3 and 1.6 liter - a classic ignition system. Engine 1.6-liter in January 1985 to equip transistor system of ignition TSZ-H is the same as on the engine capacity of 1.8 liters. Since July 1985, a change of the engine NK 1.3 liter engine came MN equipped with transistor ignition system TSZ-H.

At engines mod. MH, GU, EU, GX, KR and RH transistor ignition TSZ-H.

At engines mod. RD, RG, PL and HT electronic ignition VEZ.

Engines mod. PE, PB, IP and 1H equipped with fuel injection Digifant, their ignition VEZ has total control unit injection system.

Classical ignition system equipped with ignition distributor contacts. At the time of opening of the contacts due to the induction of a voltage in the secondary winding of the ignition coil. From the secondary winding of the ignition coil high voltage is applied to the spark plugs. To reduce arcing at the contacts on the side of the distributor of the condenser.

Transistor ignition TSZ-H is a non-contact. Instead of the interrupter with the contacts in the ignition distributor of the Hall sensor is installed, consisting of a coil and a permanent magnet. The control unit of the system is a module that amplifies the voltage induced by winding the Hall sensor.

Electronic ignition VEZ a transistor ignition system with electronic control. The electronic control unit receives information from various sensors on the engine load, engine speed, etc. and determines the optimum ignition timing.
