Removing and installing exhaust system

Before removing or disassembling the exhaust system is necessary to moisten all bolts and connections liquid solvent corrosion products, eg WD 40.

Before performing any work on the exhaust system, wait until it cools down, so as not to get burned.

Check the exhaust system for leaks as follows. To start the engine, the assistant to close the exhaust pipe with a cloth for a short time, and at this point to examine the system.

If necessary, replace any unit exhaust system may be easier to remove the entire system from the car and then take it apart.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a reception pipe 9 (see. Fig. of the exhaust manifold 12. For this engine in volume of 1,6 and 1,8 l need a special device to unclench spring clamp 10 and remove them. At engines of 1,1 and 1,3 l unscrew the two screws and remove the semicircular bracket.
2. At engines of 1,1 and 1,3 l unscrew the bracket reception pipe 9 to a transmission.
3. Remove the ring 1 and 3 and remove the entire exhaust system from the vehicle.
4. If the exhaust system fails to separate, they can warm up in the joints of a blowtorch.
5. Before installation, lubricate all joints of the means for sealing the exhaust system.
6. Podsobrat pipe 9 with additional silencers 7 and 6, without tightening definitively bolts of collars.
7. Establish a reception pipe 9 on the exhaust manifold 12, replacing the O-ring 11. At engines in working volume of 1,6 and 1,8 using a special tool to install the spring clip 10. If there is no device, you can loosen the bracket 10, by driving in They metallic wedge thickness of 4 mm. Decompresses the bracket 10 is necessary so that they can be put on the flange front pipe flange and the exhaust manifold. If the bracket 10 to unclench very strongly, they can break or they will cease to clamp exhaust pipe in the exhaust manifold. At engines in working volume of 1,1 and 1,3 l put on a reception pipe flange and the exhaust manifold flange semicircular bracket and tighten the locking screws, without tightening them completely.
8. At engines in working volume of 1,1 and 1,3 l insert bolt the front exhaust pipe to the bracket on the gearbox. Tighten, but do not tighten the nut.
9. Set the ring 1 and hang it muffler 6.
10. Hook the muffler 2 on the rings 1 and 3.
11. Attach exhaust muffler 2 to 6 with the clamp 5. Mounting finally tightened.
12. swaying from side to side to ensure that all components of the exhaust system hanging freely. Verify that all nodes have been sufficient distance from aggregate chassis and floor pan, to the rings 1 and 3 are evenly loaded.
13. At engines in working volume of 1,1 and 1,3 l Tighten the front exhaust pipe 9 to the exhaust manifold and the gearbox bracket to 25 Nm (2.5 kgf-m).
14. Firmly take the muffler 6 so that the ring 1 botched car forward by 5 mm.
15. Tighten the clamp bolts to 25 N ? m (2.5 kgf ? m).
