Precautions when servicing the air conditioning system

The air conditioning system charged with refrigerant Freon R-12, and the details of the system are under an operating pressure of over 30 000 kPa. The sources of increased danger due to incorrect operation of untrained technicians and the use of improper equipment are high pressure and chemical effects of the refrigerant.
Car refrigerant Freon R-12 has a dangerous impact on the environment. For environmental protection company ?Volkswagen? prescribes the use of the air conditioning system at depressurization equipment for recycling and processing provided with a certificate of insurance Laboratory (UL), for example, the brand Kent-Moore ACR3 or equivalent to it.

WARNINGS
1. The air conditioning system should be serviced exclusively prepared technicians trained in safe work, using the proper equipment, in compliance with the rules of depressurization, familiar with the methods of collection and storage procedures automotive refrigerant.
2. Do not allow refrigerant to the skin.
3. When working near the air-conditioning system, wear goggles.
4. If you get refrigerant on your skin or eyes do not rub the affected area. Rinse immediately with cold water for at least 15 minutes. Call a doctor or hospital. Self-medication is not permitted.
5. The new refrigerant cylinder is pressurized. Keep the bottle should be at a temperature no higher than 50 ? C. Take measures to avoid falling from the height of the cylinder or damage.
6. The works should be carried out in a well-ventilated area. The refrigerant evaporates quickly and may reduce the access of oxygen and shortness of breath.
7. Refrigerant gas is heavier than air and relatively quickly should gather below, for example, under the car.
8. During the combustion of refrigerant produced toxic gas. Keep refrigerant away from open sources of fire.
9. When carrying out welding work near the air-conditioning system, always remove it from the refrigerant. Electric welding near the refrigerant pipe of the refrigerant can cause decomposition under the action of ultraviolet radiation.
10. Do not expose the details of the air conditioning system to heat or open flame. Overheating can lead to increased pressure in the system and inflammation.
11. Clean the condenser or evaporator using steam is not allowed, use only cold water or compressed air.
