Removing and installing transmission



The following is the procedure for removing the transmission without dismantling of the power unit.
To remove the need of transmission floor jack with an adapter for housing and support legs.
Removing the transmission sequence is as follows:
Disconnect the negative battery;
hang out the front of the car and fix on support column to provide sufficient access to the transmission space;

ATTENTION
Make sure the car is securely fixed to the support column. Use only the racks are specially designed for car repair. Installing a car only one jack is dangerous and can cause serious injury.

disconnect the corresponding wire of "weight" of the transmission;
Disconnect the speedometer cable or open the remote sensor connector located at the top rear of the transmission housing. Open the remaining wiring connectors transmission;
move the selector lever to Park and disconnect the cable from the gear selector lever on the transmission housing;
Remove the intake air duct, located between the engine air filter, flow meter and throttle;

Clamp the hose clamps for supplying coolant to the cooler to avoid its loss

press a hose clamp for supplying coolant to the transmission fluid cooler and disconnect hoses (see. Fig. 8.76);

prepare a hoist or jack capable of supporting the weight of the engine. It is recommended to use a special tool (Fig. 8.77);
remove the valve regulator of idling with the bracket;
remove the starter;
loosen the upper bolts of transmission to the engine;
Remove the left transmission support;

NOTE
For vehicles with anti-lock system for access to the left support the transmission may need removal of the drain the coolant reservoir.

transmission remove a protective plate, remove the torque converter;
Remove heat shield mounted close to the right internal SHRUS, remove the stretcher balancer;
disconnect from the flange half-line right drive shaft and secure it with a rigid wire. Remove the left drive shaft;
Unscrew the torque converter to the drive;
Substitute under transmission housing rack to hold the jack housing or with the appropriate adapter. Remove the lower bolts of transmission to the engine;
carefully remove the engine from the transmission and shifting of the guide sleeve, and carefully lower the unit;

A WARNING
To avoid dropping the converter must be pre-fixed.

Installation of transmission carried out in sequence, return to removal.
Before installation, make sure you have local guides and that the torque converter is securely fastened. If necessary, check and adjust selector lever cable. If necessary, top up the level of the transmission fluid and transmission oil.
