Engine 2,8-I-V6

The mechanism of a tension of a gear belt on the engine 2,8-I-V6

1 - a tension roller of a gear belt,
2 - tensioning lever,
3 - element of the drive mechanism of a tension

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the poly V-belt.
2. Remove the V-belt tensioner.
3. Turn the crankshaft in a position in which the piston of the third cylinder is near the top dead center. Thus the label on a pulley The V-belt must be combined with the index A.
4. Installation of the piston of the third cylinder to the upper dead point in the compression stroke large holes fixing plates on the camshaft pulleys must be directed to each other. Otherwise, rotate the crankshaft by 1 full turn.
5. Lock the crankshaft in this position. To secure the crankshaft on the left side of the cylinder cover and unscrew the screw cap instead of the special core VW 3242. Special rod, entered into a groove on the crankshaft, it will lock against rotation.
6. Remove the 8 bolts and remove vibration damper / pulley V-ribbed belt.
7. Using a 8mm Allen key, gently turn clockwise toothed belt tensioning roller to push the lever pressed the plunger to align the holes in the casing pusher and a pusher (see. Fig. The mechanism of a tension of a gear belt on the engine 2,8-I-V6 ). Insert a steel rod with a diameter of 2 mm into the hole and push rod plunger and fix those. Remove the hexagon with a tension roller.
8. Unscrew bolts and remove an arm of the radiator fan and the bottom casing of a gear belt.
9. Remove the timing belt. If the gear belt is repeatedly established, using a marker or paint, mark the direction of rotation of the toothed belt.
10. Remove the three turns (but do not unscrew completely) bolts camshaft pulleys.
11. Using a puller, remove both camshaft pulley landing cones camshafts. When removing the pulley puller should rest on the bolts camshaft pulleys.
A warning

Camshaft pulley must rotate freely, but do not hang out on the assembly cone camshafts.

12. Replace the engine timing belt pulleys. When you install the previously removed the belt, set it according to the put labels.
13. Establish the special retainer VW-3391, holding sheaves raspredeliri stringing toothed belt.
14. Release the tension roller of a gear belt, which pull rod with a diameter of 2 mm, the locking mechanism of a tension. To ensure the required tension of the toothed belt, set the key on Allen tension roller and rotate it 15 Nm torque in the direction of tension.
15. After the pre-tension the timing belt Tighten the camshaft pulley to 55 Nm.
16. Secure the belt tensioner V-ribbed belt, tightened its moment of 55 Nm.
17. Remove the locking pin holding the crankshaft from turning and remove the retainer holding the camshaft pulleys. Instead of fixing the rod holding the crankshaft from turning, screw cap, tightening it to 10 Nm.
18. Install the damper on the crankshaft pulley and screw bolts, having tightened their moment of 25 Nm.
