Removing and installing front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter

NOTE
Cars with engines BLY and BVZ exhaust emissions standard EU 2. On these vehicles are not installed some components relevant to the exhaust system, such as exhaust gas recirculation, 2 lambda probe and lambda probe 2 after catalytic converter. This should be considered during assembly work.

Remove front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter

Underbody protection
Fig. 2.245. Underbody protection

Remove underbody protection on the right (Fig. 2.245).

Cars with engines BLR, BLX, BVX and BVY
Remove the plug connections of oxygen sensors from holder and disconnect them.
Release the harness lambda probes.

Transverse support bottom
Fig. 2.246. Transverse support bottom

Remove the lateral support from the bottom (Fig. 2.246).

Vehicles with Engine code BLX, BVX
Remove the plug (black) from the control unit of the sensor NOx.
Remove the NOx sensor control unit and release the cable harness to the control unit.
Disconnect the connector (black) for the exhaust gas temperature sensor and release harness.
Remove the plug (black) to Lambda probe after catalyst and release harness.
Remove the plug (black) 4 for Lambda probe after catalyst and release harness.
Remove the lateral support from the bottom.

Continuation of the assembly operations for all vehicles

Fastening clamp
Fig. 2.247. Fastening clamp

Disconnect the exhaust system by loosening the clamp (Fig. 2.247).

Holder exhaust system
Fig. 2.88. Holder exhaust system

Remove the holder of the exhaust system (Fig. 2.88).

NOTE
In vehicles with engines and BLX BVX Holder exhaust system is removed along with the cable ducts for lambda probe after catalyst.

Attaching Front Pipe
Fig. 2.90. Attaching Front Pipe

Remove the front exhaust pipe nuts to the exhaust manifold (Fig. 2.90).

NOTE
Releasable pipe receiving elements can not be bent more than 10 ?. There is a danger of damage.

Remove the front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter.

Install the front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter
Install in reverse order, with the following should be considered.
All clamps for the cable ties should be set to the original location.
Replace gaskets and self-locking nuts.
Coat the dowel pins of the exhaust manifold heat-resistant grease
Lubricate the threads of lambda probes and sensor NOx (on vehicles with engines of BLX and BVX) heat-resistant paste; the paste must not get into slots on the probe body.
Locate the clamp 2 so as to achieve the size A between the clamp 2 and the mark on the receiving pipe 3.

NOTE
On the receiving tube are 3 mark.

Install clamp so that the end of the bolt did not go beyond the lower edge of the collar.

The scheme of installation clamps
Fig. 2.248. The scheme of installation clamps: 1 - intermediate muffler; 2 - clamp; 3 - a reception pipe; a - a size of about 5 mm

Tightening torques
Reception pipe to the exhaust manifold 25 Nm.
Clamp: 25 Nm.
Transverse support to the bottom of 23 Nm.
Bracket to the sub-frame 25 Nm.

NOTE
Coat the dowel pins of the exhaust manifold heat-resistant grease
