The filling of the hydraulic system and removing air therefrom
After removing and installing the steering system must be re-filled with liquid, and must be removed from the air. Do not fill the hydraulic system fluid leaked when removing the steering mechanism. The air from the hydraulic steering system removes itself after the engine has run for a while. Observe the following sequence:
| Fig. 267. Remove the power steering reservoir and dipstick check the hydraulic fluid level (the dipstick is located on the lid)
|
- The cover of the tank has a probe. If the system is cold, the fluid must be located within the zone indicated by the label ?Kalt?, if the liquid is the operating temperature, its level must be within range of ?Warm? (see. Fig. 267); - With the engine off, check the level of hydraulic fluid; - If necessary add hydraulic fluid. When the engine is running in the liquid should not be seen any air bubbles; - Start the engine and slowly turn the steering wheel in the first one and then the other side; - If necessary add hydraulic fluid.
