Removing the cylinder head



The procedure for removing the cylinder head:
1) cleyte coolant, for which:
- Disconnect the negative battery cable;
- Remove the cap from the expansion tank;
- Remove the shield under the engine;
- Open the engine and radiator fittings, fluid collection, use a hose;
- Drain, close fittings;
2) remove the exhaust manifold, for which:

- Remove the bolts flange connection exhaust front pipe to the exhaust manifold (Fig. 4.1);
- Remove the oxygen probe;
- Unscrew two bolts of the flange connection the front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter;
- Remove the front exhaust pipe;
- Remove the two heat shield;
- Unscrew the nuts manifold to the cylinder head;
- Turn the manifold to 90 ?� clockwise and lift it;

A WARNING
1. For cars with air-conditioning: not to damage the pressure sensor tube on the air conditioning system.
2. When assembling, apply to the threads of the retaining liquid (strong) 1161076-5.


3) cnimite timing belt, for which:
- Lift the fuel rail and injectors, and put on the side;

- Put on the nozzle holder (Fig. 4.2);
4) remove the engine braided wire connection with "weight";
5) Remove the intake manifold;
6) Remove the upper radiator hose from the engine thermostat;

7) Remove the camshaft pulley using the holder 999 5199 (Fig. 4.3), mark the pulleys (intake / exhaust);
8) Remove the bolt inside cover of the timing belt;
9) Remove the air filter hoses;

10) Remove the camshaft position sensor and the diaphragm (Fig. 4.4);
11) remove the guide harness;

12) Remove the bolts, moving from the outside to the middle of the upper half of the cylinder head (Fig. 4.5);
13) carefully obstuchal upper half of the cylinder head brass knocker to the front of the camshaft, and stir gently remove the last;
14) mark the camshafts and remove them;
15) Remove the two screws coolant tubes;

16) Remove the cylinder head bolts (moving from the outside to the middle) (Fig. 4.6);
17) Remove the cylinder head;
18) Remove the cylinder head gasket;
19) after removal of the check and trim:
- The surface of the exhaust manifold / cylinder head;
- The surface for laying the cylinder blocks;
- The surface for laying the coolant tube;
- Surface between the upper and lower halves of the cylinder head.

A WARNING
Do not use a metal scraper. Use a soft spatula and, if necessary, a solvent for layering mastic 1161340-3. To ensure the tightness of the surface must be absolutely clean. When using a solvent to work under exhaust ventilation.
