Adjusting the parking brake



Rear brakes are automatically adjusted so adjusted during the operation is not required. The adjustment must be carried out only after the replacement of the parking brake cable, caliper brake pads and brake discs.
Check the braking system on the condition and the brake fluid leaks.
Click once on the brake pedal until it stops.
Release the parking brake lever.
Remove the rear ventilation grille with a central console.
Replace all plastic parts on the handbrake cable compensator.

Blade screwdriver to fix the displacement compensator of the parking brake cable (Fig. 15.37).
On all-wheel drive cars adjusting nut parking brake cable is located in front of the rear wishbone, and front-wheel drive - in the bottom of the tunnel.
Remove the clip D (see. Fig. 15.27).

Turn the adjusting nut C until it stops, and the wrench 13 mm fix by turning the hex flange E.
At the same time, move the parking brake cables in.
To unscrew the adjusting nut until the bore will not be visible to the retainer.
Install the retainer D (see. Fig. 15.27).

Moving forward, adjusting nut, pull the parking brake cables (Fig. 15.38), and the lever on the rear caliper does not have to move.
Remove the screwdriver, the fixing of the compensator move the parking brake cable (see. Fig. 15.37).
Tighten the parking brake lever three times.

After adjusting the parking brake, check that the O-ring 1 color (Fig. 15.39) was not visible, because otherwise the adjustment nut will fall into the water and dirt.
Check the pre-tension cables handbrake and, if necessary, turn the adjusting nut until the lever is in the rear caliper starts to rise.

With proper adjustment of the parking brake distance (A) between the handbrake lever and the rear caliper must not exceed 1.5 mm

Measure the distance between the handbrake lever and the rear caliper, which when correctly adjusted should not exceed 1.5 mm (Fig. 15.40).
