Checking and replacing the sensor coolant temperature gauge



You will need: a high face head "13" extension cable tester.
1. Disconnect a wire from the plug "minus" of the storage battery.
2. Drain the coolant (see. "Replacing the coolant").
3. Disconnect the sensor wire back sliding shoe harness.
4. Loosen the sensor ...
5. ... and remove it from the intake pipe.
6. To check, connect the tester in ohmmeter mode to the conclusion and the body of the sensor. The sensor resistance at room temperature should be 0.7-0.8 ohms.
7. To measure the resistance across the terminals of the sensor at different temperatures lower sensor in the hot water and make sure the change in its resistance as the cooling water: it must increase. If the sensor does not react to temperature changes, it must be replaced.
8. Set the items in reverse order.
